1978 – 1983 It was a humble start for us under a Joint Venture with friends in TransCargo Hof, Germany ( Ex Managers of Militzer & Muench ( M & M ) Germany – the renowned German Forwarder ). New opportunities emerging with the changes in Iran’s political arena after the Iranian Revolution gave Pars Tarabar’s embryonic stage a drastic impetus. During this period, working jointly with Transcargo Germany as their General Agents under the Transcargo Iran banner, Pars Tarabar handled a sizeable quantity of containerized and break-bulk cargoes moved from Europe by rail via the Trans Caucasian route to Djulfa ( Iran / Soviet border). With joint marketing efforts, over 2 million tons of chemicals, steel products and machinery were moved from Europe by soviet wagons to Djulfa and by vessel via Turkey overland to Tehran which was delivered to various Iranian traders by Pars Tarabar. With the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the resulting unrest in the region, support of this conventional rail route gradually waned and ultimately was fully replaced by a multi-modal combined route via the Turkish land-bridge.

1983 – 1987 These years were hectic activities via the Turkish route for us acting as General Agents for Deutsche Nah Ost Linie ( DNOL ) Hamburg moving about 1 million tons of containerized cargo from North West European Ports by vessel and truck using the Turkish Mediterranean port Mersin for transhipment to Iran. The escalation of the Iran-Iraq war and the ensuing changes in transportation policies downsized support of the Turkish route and the more secure and cheaper Deep Sea route to Bandar Abbas was encouraged by the Industry.

1978 - It was the conception of a group of ambitious persons holding managerial positions in various Shipping & Forwarding concerns ( in particular at the Iran Agency of Militzer & Muench Hof ) and specialized in the transportation sector to fill the vacuity created in the Transport Service Industry due to the political unrest in Iran during the late 1970s that laid the core of Pars Tarabar in 1978.

1987 onwards Pars Tarabar has actively participated in the growing CIS trade handling containerized shipments via Bandar Abbas to various destinations in Central Asia and Afghanistan. Having abundantly served in diversified trade lanes all these years, we have gained a wealth of knowledge and unsurpassed recognition among the Trade Circle.
