Estimados colegas y amigos:

Es un honor anunciaros la celebración del XII Congreso de la Sociedad Española de Nutrición Comunitaria (SENC), conjuntamente con el IV World Congress of Public Health and Nutrition, que se celebrarán en Madrid los días 24 a 27 de Octubre de 2018. Los Congresos nacional e internacional se enmarcan bajo el lema “Una Visión Global de la Alimentación y Nutrición Comunitaria-NUTRIMAD 2018”, y suponen la continuación de los celebrados los años 2012 en Cádiz, en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria en el año 2014, y de manera conjunta con el III World Congress of Public Health Nutrition, o el más reciente con carácter nacional que se llevó a cabo en Zaragoza en el año 2016.

Queremos, y estamos convencidos de ello, que NUTRIMAD 2018 va a ser un Congreso de elevado nivel científico, y va a suponer que Madrid durante esas fechas se convierta en la capital

Dear colleagues and friends,

It is an honour to announce the XII Congress of the Spanish Society for Community Nutrition (SENC), that will be held jointly with the IV World Congress of Public Health and Nutrition from the 24-27 October 2018 in Madrid. The national and international Congresses fall under the title “A Global View of Food and Community Nutrition-NUTRIMAD 2018” and they are a continuation of the events held in 2012 in Cadiz, in 2014 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria together with the III World Congress of Public Health Nutrition, and the most recent national event held in Zaragoza in 2016.

We hope, and are convinced, that NUTRIMAD 2018 will be a high-level scientific Congress, and it means that Madrid will become the world capital of Community Nutrition and Public health during those dates. To fulfil our objectives, plenary sessions, panel sessions and symposia will be held, as well

as workshops and courses, both before and during the Congress. This will favour active participation of Congress attendees at all times, offering significant space for the presentation of new work and research and, what is even more important, contacts between participants who will have the opportunity over these few days to share their projects, exchange opinions and to be together “scientifically and humanly”, as in customary at our Congresses.

From the very beginning the intention has been to offer a variety of themes that, apart from being a true reflection of the multidisciplinary nature of food and nutrition, allows for discussions due to the participation of a very diverse group of interested professionals. As a preview, and without going into too much detail, current issues will be addressed: “Education for better nutrition: what is the situation today?”; “Social aspects of food”; “The Mediterranean

Para llevar a cabo nuestros objetivos, se desarrollarán conferencias plenarias, mesas redondas, simposios, sin olvidar los talleres y cursos, tanto antes como durante el Congreso, que favorezcan en todo momento la participación activa de los congresistas, dejando de manera muy significativa un espacio para la presentación de nuevos trabajos e investigaciones y, lo que es más importante, la interrelación de todos los participantes que durante estos días van a tener la oportunidad de compartir sus proyectos, intercambiar sus opiniones y convivir “científica y humanamente”, como viene siendo habitual en nuestros Congresos.

Se ha procurado desde el primer momento que haya una diversidad de temas que, además de ser fiel reflejo del carácter multidisciplinar de la alimentación y nutrición, permita el debate mediante la participación de muy diversos profesionales interesados. A modo de avance, y sin

querer ser exhaustivos, se abordarán temas tan actuales como: “Educación para una mejor nutrición: ¿dónde estamos?”; “Aspectos sociales de la alimentación”; “Dieta Mediterránea: una visión integral”; “Ejercicio físico, equilibrio emocional y alimentación”; “Nutrición Comunitaria para una sociedad envejecida”; “Sostenibilidad alimentaria”; “Gastronomía saludable”; “Hidratación a nivel comunitario”; “Vivir y comer en comunidad: del comedor colectivo a la restauración comercial y de ocio”, entre otros.

Para conseguir estos objetivos, hemos conformado un equipo organizador multidisciplinar en el campo de la nutrición, la alimentación y la salud pública que engloba a instituciones como las Universidades de la Comunidad de Madrid, o las Administraciones, con el objetivo común de aportar nuestra experiencia, trabajo y la mayor ilusión en poder reuniros en Madrid en Octubre del 2018. Una ciudad, Madrid, que es en la actualidad uno de los principales focos de atracción

To achieve our objectives, we have set up a multidisciplinary organizational team, experts in the fields of nutrition, food and public health that includes institutions such as Madrid Universities and Public Administrations, with the common aim of providing our experience, work and great enthusiasm so we can meet in Madrid in October 2018. Madrid is currently one of the main attraction centres for technology and innovation, and it is undeniably known for its open, welcoming and friendly character as well as being cosmopolitan, and thus a permanent tourist, cultural and gastronomic attraction.
