The driver’s daily checks are a legal requirement. MotorwayBuddy Technical

solutions provides comprehensive daily checklists with defect reporting for

drivers, completed via the driver’s handset.

This information is then available via your web portal where it can be

downloaded, printed and sent to a workshop should any work need

completing. Furthermore, the information received is time and date stamped,

so regardless of start times you can be assured the checks have been carried

out at the beginning of every shift. You are also able to see who has not

completed their daily checks.

Data is stored for a minimum of 15 months and can be easily accessed in the

event of a DVSA inspection.


With load security being something that we must all adhere to and the

authorities ensuring safe working practices are being observed; making sure

you embark on your daily duties with everything secure is essential. Built into

the MotorwayBuddy Technical Solutions package is the ability for drivers to

take pictures before departure, displaying every available precaution was

taken before embarking. This is available on your web portal.

We all have to accept the fact that accidents can happen but, should such

an unfortunate event occur, you have visible evidence to show that all

precautions were taken prior to departure to ensure safe passage.


With freight crime being a huge cost for the industry, the crime reporting function on the MotorwayBuddy app is a great benefit to not only you, but the haulage industry as a whole.

Should your driver be parked in either a lay-by or a secure truck stop and suffer criminal damage to either them, their vehicle or their load, the MotorwayBuddy Technical Solutions package gives them the ability to capture pictures of the incident, the location and time and a brief description of what happened. Once recorded, the information is available on your web portal.

As well as the fleet operator, this information is being received and logged by the teams at the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) who gather vehicle crime intelligence from all UK police forces and European law enforcement agencies. That intelligence helps law enforcement to track emerging criminal trends and put the correct resources in place to stop them as well as warn other operators.

The information is also passed to TAPA EMEA to help warn continental drivers.


Now, more than ever, border checks are an important responsibility for

fleet operators. MotorwayBuddy Technical Solutions provides users with

the capability to complete checklists and attach photos to show that all

precautions for the border security and prevention of clandestine entry were

taken by the driver.

There checklists and photos will be instantly uploaded to your online portal,

including the date, location and the time of entry to provide more evidence of

the driver’s due diligence should the authorities require it.


Should accidental damage occur to the vehicle or its load, photographs and a

report can be submitted immediately to the MotorwayBuddy web portal. This

report includes: the location of where the incident happened, the time when

the incident was first discovered and a description of what has happened.

This information can then be passed on to insurance companies if required,

showing clearly how the damage occurred.

BuddyPay is a system designed to assist logistics companies that pay for off-site overnight parking.

The daily task of dealing with receipts and driver expenses can be very time consuming. With BuddyPay, the haulage company deposits money into a

Pay-As-You-Go account. When a driver arrives at a parking site all they have to do is give the number plate of the vehicle they are driving and the amount

is automatically drawn down at no extra cost to the haulier.
