The current flag of mexico was set on September 16 , 1968. The Mexican flag has three colors : green , white and red.

Green symbolizes hope in the future...

White represents peace

The red symbolizes the blood of the heroes who fight for our country

On the white stripe there is a picture representing the legend wich says that God told the Mexica Huitzilopotztli to establish their city where they saw an eagle perched on a cactus eating a snake.

From 1810 to the present it has been 12 flags of Mexico that has been changing throughout the years until 2015.
