History….

• UNECO, The United Engineering Co. was founded in 1956 as one of the first Air conditioning companies in the region.

• UNECO was the exclusive TRANE distributor in Lebanon Since 1956.

HISTORY CONT……

In 2008 M.E.T. sal, was established to take over the Mechanical Engineering and service business from UNECO.

LEBANON RECONSTRUCTION

We  took ownership of Beirut Central district renovation projects since 1994

We were there from the beginning..

• Beirut Central district had the majority of construction activity aside from the Beirut International Airport and Casino 

du Liban. 

BCD –Unitary success..• We Owned the 

Beirut Central district small and medium size residential projects by introducing the high rise unitary application using USA made outdoor units ( Solidere Lot 671).

BCD – Applied success…• Thru a design/build 

agreement with Beirut Central district development team, we managed to install more than 60  air cooled heat pump screw chillers.

• Currently there are more than 75 of these chillers installed in Downtown Beirut

Central Plants…• From 1969 to 2012 We have 

installed more than 80 % of the water cooled central plants in the country.

Les Dunes commercial Center and Holiday Inn hotel:  Scheduled replacement of Qty=6, 160 tons air cooled chillers. Contract was signed directly with owner. Project was won based on long standing relationship with the owner and based on excellent service record that started in 1997.

• Maronite church headquarters in Lebanon: Supply and installation of Qty=2 , air cooled heat pump chillers and supply of various air side equipment, that are being installed by a mechanical contractor under our supervision. Contract was signed directly with the Cardinal, based on our experience in the HVAC applications for worship houses.

American University of Beirut – School of MedicineCentral plant Replacement 

Project is currently under bid, with provision for value engineering . Consultant AME and Associates. Original plant was executed by UNECO 1969

Award winning project with international recognition ‐ 2009

American University of Beirut – New Central Plant • 3,000 tons of cooling with absorption and centrifugal chillers, using marine cooling 

• A design/build effort at the highest level • Saved the university $1million • Record execution time of 11 month. 

Our efforts were recognized by the University administration and by the American Institute of Architects as one of the top 10 green projects in 2009.
