The fifth phase has the purpose to provide an introduction to engine perfomance and its control analyzing Engine Health Monitoring Systems and finally the class provides an Engine Fleet Management to complement the engine overview learning.

Propósito:

This learning unit shows students the components and main sections of a turbojet engine, as well as characteristics and operating parameters according to the process developed by each component to be developed as a whole cycle and subsequent identification in the charts work and energy of the Brayton cycle, also introduces the student to the knowledge of the laws and regulations issued by the national aviation authorities global and international applicable for different levels of service for this type of engines as well as the documents that certify such repairs. In addition the unit introduces students to graphs of trend to control management of monitoring of the motor parameters such as thrust, flows of air, fuel and oil, RPMs, temperatures, pressures, etc applicable to maintenance to improve performance, decrease the degradation of components and increase the operation time of the engine at a lower cost to the airline or operator. The unit finally induces the student in the administration of the fleet of engines, analyzing the different levels of service, applicable intervals and change of parties limited to the further elaboration of the final work of repair or workscope which will be sent to the workshop repair, in addition to know an approximate cost of such repair.

In this course the student will learn/study an advanced level of turbine engine operation and maintenance practices; to include digital engine control systems, built in test equipment (B.I.T.E.) technology, engine air bleed systems, hot section and fuel system inspection and maintenance procedures and engine monitoring system principles and inspection fundamentals. Students will participate in operations, completing various mandatory performance objectives relating to the Airwirhtiness approved program curriculum. These performance objectives are met during the completion of various maintenance projects carried out to a level associated with Applicable Airworthiness. Requirement within the hangar environment
