Itziar Camio Begins Life In Bilbao, Spain
Camio was born in Bilbao, Spain of an American mother and Spanish father. Although Camio left Spain when only 3 years old, Camio has maintained close ties to Bilbao and her Basque father, who remained in his native country. Her birthplace, Bilbao is the largest urban center of the Basque Country, with a metropolitan area of around 1 million citizens. Located in northern Spain, the greater Basque region is centered on this bustling urban center where Camio was born and spent her earliest years. Camio returned to Spain in 2005 to care for her father, and reconnected with her roots in Bilbao.
Itziar Camio Makes Early Preparation For a Financial CareerAfter her primary and secondary education years in California in the United States, where she attended Taper Elementary in San Pedro and high school in Lake Arrowhead, Itziar Camio attended the University of California at Santa Barbara. An undergraduate degree in Business and Economics followed her enrollment at UC. Camio joined the international financial services firm Deloitte and Touche upon graduation, and worked as a financial consultant for 3 years for this well-known financial services giant.
Itziar Camio Studies World Benefits Of Sustainable Agriculture
Itziar Camio volunteered her professional and experienced accounting services to several businesses, including small startups like fearlesschocolate, a venture in the sales of raw, organically grown chocolate which may have driven her current interest in sustainable food production. Camio studied International Development for her Masters Degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and has become committed to and passionate about the benefits of sustainable agriculture for the world’s population now and in the future.
Itziar Camio Is Descended From Ancient Basque Peoples
Dual citizen Itziar Camio has direct lineage with the Basque community through her Basque father, who still lives in his native village near Bilbao, Spain. Although Camio moved to the United States with her mother and brother when she was 3, she maintained close ties with her father and Spain. Camio is familiar with the struggles of the Basque people to achieve self-government and a degree of autonomy in protecting their unique language and culture.
