tor, pedagogo, investigador p ara la

UNESCO y coordinador del P lan
Andaluz de Educacin para la Cul-
tura de Paz y No Violencia es autor
de numerosas publicaciones rela-
cionadas con esta temtica. En 2005
su trayectoria pr ofesional fue reco-
noc ida po r l a Cons e je r a con l a
Medalla de Oro al Mrito en la E du-
cacin y con un a mencin especial
en lo s p r em ios anua les de l a
CODAPA.
Qu aora de su etapa de esco-lar?Aoro pocas cosas y tr ato s iem-

nuevos proyectos o en aquellos
inconclusos: un nuevo libro sobre
la educac in en de rechos hum a-nos, la redaccin de los cuentos que
i n v en t a b a y n a r r a b a a m i a l u m -
nado en mi etapa de ma es tro o la
elaboracin de materia l didctico
que impu lse y promocione la cul-
tura de paz en los centros educati-
vos . Ms que a orar , atesoro los
momentos que de alguna m anera
han determin ado mi vida personal
y profesional. Por ello, de mi eta-
pa escolar recuer do a los maestros,
muy pocos por cierto, que me en se-
aron con paciencia y ternur a.
Y de su poca de profesor y coor-dinador del Plan Andaluz de edu-cacin para la Cultura de Paz y NoViolencia ?De mi poca de profesor, valoro el
trabajo en equ ipo y sobre todo la
pas in con la que pretenda ense-
ar, tratando siempre de ser cohe-
rente en mis acciones. Como coor-
dinador del Plan Andalu z de Edu-
cacin par a la Cultura de Paz y No
V iolenc ia , e s toy eno r m em en te
agradecido con todas las personas
que hicieron pos ible que nues tro
sueo compart ido se hiciera rea-
lidad y con las que me un e una sin-
cera amis tad.
Cmo se despierta en usted elinters por la educacin en valores?Este inters por la educacin par a
la paz y los derechos huma nos sur-

Pedagoga, a f inales de los aos

s iendo ya miembr o de la Asocia-
cin Mundial por la Escuela Ins-
tru mento de Paz, una ONG funda-
da por J acques Mlhth aler, editor
de m anu a les es cola r es que com -
prendi el gran papel de la escue-
la pues ta al servicio de la hum a-
nidad y de los prin cipios cvicos.
En educacin cualquier tiempopasado fue peor?La educac in s i em pre es una
ta r ea de fu tu ro que bus ca r es -
pues tas al terna tivas a los proble-
mas sociales y culturales de una
poca de te r m inada . Educar e s
s iempre imaginar nuevas pos ibi-
lidades para el desarrollo personal
y social de los ciudada nos y ciu-
dadanas. Por otro lado, es siempreu n a t e n t a t i va c a r g a da m s d e
ince r t idum bres que de ce r t ezas ;
accin que requiere por tanto de
mucha imaginacin, compromiso
y cooperacin. La educacin es un
proceso global de t oda la sociedad
para a lcanzar nuevas cotas de pro-
g res o y d ign idad pa ra todos y
todas. Es siempre un a accin ina-
cabada y perfectible.

Cuando le pedimos a Jos Tuvi-
lla que realice una valoracin del
desarrollo del Plan An daluz, pio-
nero en nu estro pas, no vacila enaf irmar que s te ha s ido enorme
y ha servido y s irve de ejemplo
para in ic ia r exper ienc ias s im i -
l a r es . En t i ende que s u cons o li -
dacin se ha debido a la vitalidad
y decidido compromiso del pro-
fesorado a ndaluz y, tambin, a la
voluntad hones ta de la adminis -
tracin educativa que lo ha hecho
posible. La Cultu ra de paz aa-
de es una constr uccin colecti-
va inacabada que constituye uno
de los principios bsicos de nues-tro s is tema educativo andaluz y
de nuestra Comunidad andaluza
ta l com o s e exp res a en nues t ro
Estatuto Autonmico.Con es te
P l a n s e h a i n i c i a d o u n c a m i n o
que requier e de nuevos proyec-
tos y de nuevos esfuer zos no slo
par a consolidar los objetivos ya
conseguidos, sino para conseguir
nuevas complicidades en un mun -
do interdepen diente y, en ocasio-
nes, violento.
En sntesis contina , diraque e l P lan A nda luz ha cons e -
guido hacer de la utopa una r ea-
lidad tal como se constata por la
fortaleza de una red formada por
casi dos millares de centros edu-
cat ivos y que fue def inida , por
una pu blicacin pedaggica de
mbito nacional, como la red de
la esperanza.

Qu importancia tiene la escue-la en la construccin de la paz?No cabe duda que la contr ibucin
de la escuela es fundam ental para
la construccin de la paz, entendi-
da como la s n tes is de todos losderechos hum anos. Pero la escue-
la no se puede trabajar en sol i ta-
r io . La cons t rucc in de l a paz
requiere que todas nu estras accio-
nes se inicien desde la equidad de
gnero y que, al men os, se superen
tres desafos o metas:pr imero supe-
rar la tensin que la Cultura de Paz
impone a la organ izacin escolar
y al propio currcu lo;segundo, con-
seguir qu e los centros educa tivos
sean verdaderas comunidades de
aprendizaje; y, por ltimo, pasar a
un m odelo de sociedad educativa
y educadora.
Cmo se puede trabajar desde elaula?Opino que tratar de aprender los
valores mnimos de la cultura de
paz en el aula sera insu ficiente si
el centro como tal, en sus distintos
mbitos , no es t implicado a tra-
vs de un proyecto integra l con la
par t icipacin de todos los miem-
bros de la comun idad educativa y
de amplios sectores de la sociedad.
Dicho proyecto debiera centr arse,
a nivel de centro y de aula, en la
mejora del am biente socioeduca-
tivo constituido por una mejora del
clima escolar, por la m ejora de las
prcticas docentes y por resolucin
pacfica de los conflictos.
Que valoracin hace de la pol-mica suscitada por la nueva asig-natura, Educacin para la ciudada-na?Creo que es un a polmica inn e-
cesaria e in teresada. Cmo se pue-den objetar los derechos huma nos?

En qu est trabajando ahora tan-to pedaggica como poticamentehablando?Trabajo en la h is tor ia de la edu-
cacin para la paz y los derechos
hum anos en nuestro pas. Y a ratos
en un poemario de carcter social.
