President’s Message

Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends,

Jai Shree Ram!

With great pride and joy, I would like to congratulate you all Devotees of HOM, for a wonderful month of

activities held during March. The grand MahaShivratri and the colorful Holi…we all celebrated and enjoyed

together. It gives me great pleasure to see all Kids, newer young Families, veteran Seniors, joining hands to

participate in these Festivals / Functions organized by the Temple.

In the regular Sunday Congregations also, we try to have talented Bhajan Singers, trained Yoga Experts,

Learned Speakers, Saints & Gurus visiting the temple from India, as well as local. I would like to encourage

you all to attend the Sunday Programs as well, and improve the attendance in the temple. On the 4th of March,

we were all fortunate & blessed to have Mrs. Shashi Tandon amidst us. She is a well known Speaker on the

Vedas and Meditation, and explains the deep philosophy in very simple words, with a practical approach, that

can be easily followed in our daily life routine.

It has always been our tradition to play safe and pious Holi with Flowers…this year too, devotees came in with

multi-colored Bouquets to share blessings and joy with Family, Friends and above all – with Lord Krishna &

Radha Rani. However, this year, special arrangements were made to provide a bowl of flower petals to every

third person present in the hall. Just as the sound of “Aaj Biraj Mein Holi re Rasiya” echoed in the hall, people

showered flowers on each other, embraced and wished each other ‘Happy Holi’. Fragrance prevailed in the air

& it literally appeared to be a rain of flowers…Blessings pouring down from the Heavens Above.

For the first time, HOM Management also decided to play traditional Holi with Colors – Abeer Gulal!!! After the

regular “Phulon ki Holi” people were encouraged to play Holi with colors outside in the Parking Lot. Although it

was a cloudy day, with rain sprinkles off & on, but nothing could stop our youth, younger Couples & Families

from having FUN and enjoying the spirit of this colorful festival. They sang, danced and colored each other’s

faces, reviving old memories from their childhood in India. This was the first time, and people welcomed the fun

idea and enjoyed themselves.

Special Food arrangements to mark the Gala Festivals have always been a priority in Hari Om Mandir. People

always look forward to the Special “Thandai & Kheer” on Shivratri, which was served this year also. Sanjha

Parivar provided special Kadi-Chawal, Phalooda and Gujjias on the occasion of Holi, which was relished by

one and all.

As I talk about all the programs in the temple, I cannot THANK enough, the services performed by my excellent

Team of Board Members and Volunteers, who work hard to make every Event successful and memorable! A

lot of effort & preparation goes behind the scenes…Parking arrangements, Food, Decorations, Singing, Poojas

as per the Hindu rituals & traditions by the Priests etc etc. I would like to express my gratitude to each and

every one of you, for helping me in running the show smoothly.
