Peró el seu treball més important es aquell basat en la fotografia.El treball d’Helena es caracteritza per la representació de mons fantàstics i de fantasia. La realitat del món es mescla amb la fantasia de la imaginació.Entre els seus referents podem trobar la pintura prerafaelista i les fotografies de Julia Margaret Cameron També son clars referents els contes presents en la memòria popular, com es el cas de l’obra de Ll. Carroll o dels germans Grimm; o en el cinema l’obra de Tim Burton.
