CONVENTION BUREAUEl Convention Bureau de Interior de Castelln (CBI) es un organismo creado por la administracin pblica y el sector privado para,

de forma cohesionada, promocionar y organizar tanto la oferta de alojamiento, como de restauracin o infraestructuras existentes en el interior de la provincia de Castelln y con el fi n de convertir el destino en un referente para el turismo de reuniones.

Convention Bureau de Interior de Castelln (CBI) pone a disposicin de los organizadores de eventos, profesionales o particulares, una amplia red de empresas y profesionales que ayudan a desarrollar un turismo interior de calidad e incentivan la participacin de congresistas y acompaantes en los eventos programados, ayudando a conseguir el xito de su celebracin. Con soluciones imaginativas. Con responsabilidad y efi ciencia.

Convention Bureau de Interior de Castelln (CBI) dispone de un departamento especializado y dotado con la infraestructura necesaria para que las agencias y los organizadores de reuniones (congresos, convenciones y jornadas) que programen sus eventos en los municipios del interior de la provincia de Castelln puedan obtener informacin, asesoramiento y soporte tcnico en los siguientes campos:

PORQUE EN EL INTERIOR DE CASTELLN, REALIZAR UN EVENTO, ES DISFRUTAR.

1. Informar y coordinar con los organizadores la planifi cacin y desarrollo de sus eventos, con el fi n de conseguir el xito en sus programas.

2. Facilitar informacin sobre los lugares de celebracin de eventos, infraestructura congresstica y servicios.

3. Coordinar las actividades del evento y realizar la intermediacin con las Instituciones Pblicas del destino.

4. Facilitar la distribucin del material de promocin turstica.

5. Asistir en la organizacin de visitas tcnicas, viajes de inspeccin o programas de ocio y cultura para acompaantes.

6. Colaborar en la difusin de los eventos a travs de la promocin.

Th e Convention Bureau of Inland Castelln (CBI) is a body that was set up by the public authorities and private sector to work together to promote and organise the accommodation, restaurant and catering facilities or infr astructure currently available in the interior of the province of Castelln, with a view to making the area a reference for MICE or business tourism.

Th e Convention Bureau of Inland Castelln (CBI) provides both private and professional event organisers with a broad network of companies and professionals that can help develop quality tourism in the interior and encourage conference participants and their companions to take part in the scheduled events, thereby contributing towards its overall success. Th e Convention Bureau of Inland Castelln (CBI) has a specialised department equipped with the necessary infr astructure to enable the agencies and organisers of meetings (conferences, conventions and workshops) scheduling their events in towns in the interior of the province of Castelln to obtain information, advice and technical support in the following areas:

1. Reporting and coordinating the planning and development of events with the organisers to ensure the success of such programmes.2. Providing information on venues for events, conference infr astructure and services.3. Coordinating activities during the event, and acting as mediator with Public Authorities in the region.4. Facilitating the distribution of material to promote tourism.5. Assisting in the organisation of technical visits, inspections, or leisure and cultural activities for the participants companions.6. Hemos tratado de compendiar los mltiples y eficaces recursos que ofre-cen los municipios de interior , para ayudar a resolver todas las cuestiones que se plantee a la hora de progra-mar viajes, estancias, reuniones de trabajo, congresos o convenciones profesionales.

Esta gua dispone de dos tablas para buscar aloja-miento y salones de congresos (1) en base al criterio que el organizador de congresos estime oportuno, estas tablas tienen una columna vertical en la que se encuentran las principales caracteristicas para la or-ganizacin de un congreso: la ubicacin, la capaci-dad (que se encuentrra en la tabla central), los servi-cios mas importantes de la sala o del establecimiento; y dos fi las horizontales que nos indican la localidad y su situacin en el mapa en la parte superior y el esta-blecimiento y la pgina de la gua donde lo podemos encontrar en la parte inferior.

Para facilitar la bsqueda podemos utilizar el marca pginas (2), que tiene impresa la columna vertical y nos permite buscar de manera rpida nuestra mejor opcin independientemente del criterio de bsqueda que utilicemos.

The guide has two charts for fi nding accommodation and convention halls (1) based on the criteria determined by the conference organiser. These charts have a vertical column containing the main features of the conference: location, capacity (in the main chart), the most important services of the convention hall or establishment; and two horizontal rows indicating the town and its location on the map at the top; and at the bottom, the establishment and page in the guide where they can be found.

To make it easier to conduct the search, we can use the bookmark (2), which has the vertical column printed out thus enabling us to search for our best option quickly irrespective of the search criteria used.

ESTRUCTURA DE LA GUA HOW THE GUIDE IS STRUCTURED

El presente Manual profesional para la Organi-zacin de Congresos est pensado para que el organizador pueda planifi car cualquier tipo de reunin, teniendo en cuenta todas las variables posibles.

Su uso es sencillo y verstil, pues el manual per-mite al usuario consultar la existencia de oferta por localidad, capacidad o servicios. Asimismo, es posible tambien realizar la consulta por esta-blecimiento.

La gua se organiza segn el siguiente esquema (1). Cada comarca y sus localidades estn iden-tifi cadas con un color, el cual tambin se emplea en el mapa para identifi car las poblaciones (2). Los municipios estn ordenados por comarcas y alfabeticamente; dentro de cada uno existe una relacin de los servicios que ofrece vinculados al turismo de reuniones. En primer lugar se en-contrarn los alojamientos, seguidamente los sa-lones y por ltimo, y al fi nal de la comarca, los restaurantes.

En las pginas de cada establecimiento, tenemos un titular con su nombre, informacin principal (direccin, web, etc..), y algunos iconos que nos ayudarn a saber ms del establecimiento. La informacin que nos dan estos iconos se puede encontrar en la pgina 9 y en el marcapginas, para as tener todos los detalles necesarios siem-pre a mano.

En las pginas 12 y 13 tenemos unas tablas para poder ver los servicios que ofrecen los alojamien-tos y los salones de congresos, y una informacin detallada de las capacidades totales y parciales.

This professional handbook for organising conferences is designed to aid the conference organiser to plan any type of meeting, taking all potential variables into account.

The handbook is versatile and easy to use as it enables the user to view the relevant information by looking under location, capacity or services. Alternatively, this can also be done by checking each establishment.

The guide is organised according to the following structure (1): each district and its towns and villages are identifi ed by a colour, which is also used on the map to identify such locations (2). Municipalities are organised alphabetically according to district, and within each there is a list of available MICE-related

services. Establishments offering accommodation are listed fi rst, followed by convention halls and fi nally at the end of the list for each district are the restaurants.

On the website for each establishment, we include the name of the person responsible, the main details (address, website, etc.), and some icons that will help us fi nd out more about the place in question. The information given by these icons can be found on page 9 and on the bookmark, so that all the details are permanently to hand.

On pages 12 and 13 there are charts showing the services offered by each hotel and convention hall, along with detailed information on total and partial capacity.

CASTELLNSituada al este de la Pennsula Ibrica, la provincia de Castelln es la ms septentrional de la Comunitat Valenciana y la segunda provincia ms montaosa de Espaa. En ella se encuentra el Pico del Penyagolosa que, con una altura de 1.813 metros, es el techo de la Comunitat Valenciana. Con extraordinarios recursos naturales y singulares, Castelln ofrece una orografa nica que conjuga a la perfeccin, y en pocos kilmetros de distancia, clidas playas y agrestes calas de la Costa de Azahar con un accidentado paisaje en el interior de la provincia, que va declinando a medida que se acerca a la costa. Castelln garantiza una oferta turstica de calidad con 8 parques naturales y ms de 120 kilmetros de playas.

Adems, todo este rico patrimonio se encuentra complementado por una gastronoma excepcional, rica y variada, propia de la tierra y elaborada con productos naturales.

Un aspecto muy importante de los municipios del interior de Castelln son sus fiestas, que guardan seas de identidad propias, siendo las mismas otro de sus mltiples atractivos.

Located on the east coast of the Iberian Peninsula, Castelln is the northernmost province of the autonomous Region of Valencia and the second most mountainous in Spain. It is home to the Penyagolosa Massif, which is the highest peak in the region, rising to a height of 1,813 metres.With its extraordinary and exceptional natural resources, Castelln has a unique geography that offers a perfect combination: over just a short distance it changes from the warm beaches and rugged coves of the Costa de Azahar to the rough, uneven landscape further inland, which flattens out nearer the sea. Castelln guarantees quality tourism, with 8 natural parks and beaches stretching for over 120 kilometres (nearly 75 miles).

In addition, this rich heritage is complemented by an exceptional, rich and varied cuisine, typical of the local area, featuring natural products.

Historically, the entire district is closely associated with Morella, the main town and local hub presiding over a vast territory that includes practically the whole region. The reconquest of the town from the Moors in 1232 marked the beginning of the creation of the Kingdom of Valencia. Its strategic location, bordering on Aragon and Catalonia, gave rise to the construction of many fortifications.The whole district enjoyed great importance throughout the Carlist Wars due to the fact that one of the generals made Morella his operations centre. Many of these fortifications were destroyed or damaged beyond repair during this conflict, while others were rebuilt and enlarged.The areas rugged landscape and the remoteness of its villages also spawned a significant number of fortified farmsteads, a number of which were concentrated in what is now the Region of Valencia. Many of these have barely retained any vestige of their original defences, either because they have fallen into a state of neglect or because of successive alterations.

Histricamente toda la comarca ha estado muy ligada a su capital y ncleo principal: la ciudad de Morella, cabeza de un vasto territorio que comprenda la prctica totalidad de esta zona. Conquistada a los musulmanes en 1232, supuso el punto de partida para la creacin del Reino de Valencia. Su estratgica situacin, fronteriza con Aragn y Catalunya, origin la construccin de muchas fortificaciones.Toda la comarca tuvo una gran importancia en el transcurso de las Guerras Carlistas, ya que Morella lleg a ser centro de operaciones de un general. Muchas de estas fortificaciones fueron destruidas o daadas irreparablemente durante esta contienda, a la vez que otras fueron reconstruidas y ampliadas. MORELLAEncerrada entre 1562 metros de murallas, la zona antigua de Morella, declarada Conjunto de Inters Histrico-Artstico, es poseedora de un importante patrimonio monumental en el que destacan la porticada calle Blasco de Alagn, los palacios y casonas del Cardenal Ram del siglo XVI, de Ciurana del siglo XIV, de Cruilles del siglo XVI, de la Cofrada de Labradores del siglo XVII, de Piquer del siglo XVI, el Ayuntamiento de los siglos XIV-XV, la iglesia Arciprestal de los siglos XIII-XIV, etcTodos estos monumentos se encuentran a resguardo del Castillo de Morella, edificio conservado y que actualmente permite su visita. Las vistas desde el mismo son hermosas, pues se alza en lo alto de la muela rocosa rodeada por la poblacin a 1.070 m de altitud.La ciudad todava conserva el urbanismo medieval con sus calles concntricas y radiales, unos 1500 metros de muralla, 6 puertas y 14 torres.La orografa del terreno en que se enclava Morella abre la posibilidad de realizar incontables excursiones a pie por la zona y de disfrutar del tiempo libre en contacto con la naturaleza. Por otro lado, la artesana, siempre presente en los pueblos de interior, invade la ciudad a modo de pequeas tiendas que ofrecen al visitante una muestra de los antiguos oficios de la comarca.

Surrounded by a 1,562-metre-long wall, the old town of Morella, declared to be a conservation area of special architecturaland historic interest, is home to important monuments such as the colonnaded street of Blasco de Alagn, the 16th century palaces and mansions of Cardinal Ram, the 14th century Ciurana, 16th century Cruilles, the Cofrada de Labradores dating back to the 17th century, the 16th century Piquer, the Town Hall dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries, the archpriestal church of the 13th and 14th centuries, etc.All these monuments are to be found within a short distance of Morella Castle, a preserved building that is currently open to the public. The views to be had from the castle are really stunningl, thanks to its position on a rugged hilltop overlooking the town at an altitude of 1,070 metres. The town still has a medieval flavour, with its urban layout of concentric and radial streets, 1500 metres of wall, 6 gateways and 14 towers.The geography of the area surrounding Morella offers the visitor a number of hiking opportunities and other leisure activities in contact with nature. On the other hand, crafts, which have a constant presence in rural Castelln, invade the town in its small shops giving the visitor an idea of the ancient trades that were common in the area.

TODOLELLASe trata una pequea poblacin situada a 850 metros de altura con tan solo 140 habitantes. Un lugar de inters turstico gracias a su imponente castillo medieval, que data del siglo XIV, La Casa del Diable del siglo XVI, situada en la plaza mayor, el edifico del Ayuntamiento del siglo XVIII, etcSu casco urbano merece especial atencin por su trazado medieval completo, sin murallas pero muy bien delimitado. De forma ordenada se organizan sus calles en la ladera de la montaa, a resguardo del castillo en su parte alta, y en su falda el curso del ro Cantavieja. Todolella posee tambin, como importante patrimonio, una de las danzas ms antiguas de cuantas an perduran en el folklore de las tierras de Castelln: las Danzas Guerreras de Todolella, que vienen celebrndose desde el siglo XV.Desde lo alto de su mola se divisan diferentes paisajes de tierras lejanas que invitan al visitante a admirar la majestuosidad del paisaje y la orografa de la Comarca de Els Ports.

Todolella is a small village located at an altitude of 850 metres and a population of just 140 inhabitants. Tourists come to visit its imposing medieval castle, which dates back to the 14th century, the sixteenth century Casa del Diable (Devils House) in the main square, the eighteenth century building of the Town Hall, etc. The centre of the village deserves special attention because of its medieval layout, which is complete and very well defined, despite the fact that there are no walls. Its orderly streets are mapped out on the mountain slope, protected by the castle above and the course of the river Cantavieja below. As part of its cultural heritage, Todolella also has one of the oldest dances to have survived in the folklore of the lands of Castelln: the War Dances of Todolella, which have been performed ever since the 15th century.From the top of the hill, it is possible to make out the different scenery of distant lands inviting the visitor to admire the splendour of the landscape and topography of the district of Els Ports.

This is the northernmost district of the Region of Valencia, forming a strip that extends from the coast featuring some of the most picturesque towns along this part of the Mediterranean, before rising abruptly further inland. One of the regions highest areas, it has an abundance of wild, remote beauty spots. With its wet climate, the scenery is rugged, with deep gorges and a large area of woodland.In the early days of the Reconquest, its history was determined by the fact that it formed part of the dominions of the Military Orders of the Temple and Montesa, who fortified many of these sites. More recently, it was often the scene of military action during the Carlist Wars.There is documentary evidence to suggest the existence of other relatively important fortresses, of which no trace survives today, or else their scant remains are hard to find, particularly in the area known as Tinena de Benifass.

Es la comarca ms septentrional de la Comunitat Valenciana, formando una franja que se extiende desde la costa, con algunas de las poblaciones ms hermosas del Mediterrneo valenciano, elevndose rpidamente hacia el interior en una de las zonas ms altas de todo el territorio, lugares de belleza salvaje y remota. Es esta una zona abrupta, de clima hmedo, con profundos barrancos y una importante masa forestal. Su historia est determinada, en los primeros tiempos de la Reconquista, por ser dominios de las rdenes Militares del Temple y de Montesa, que fortificaron muchos de estos lugares. Ms modernamente, fue escenario de primera importancia en el desarrollo de las acciones militares durante las Guerras Carlistas.Existen referencias documentales a la existencia de otras fortalezas de cierta importancia, hoy completamente desaparecidas o con escasos restos difciles de localizar, especialmente en la llamada Tinena de Benifass.

LA POBLA DE BENIFASSEstas tierras se encuentran a importantes cotas de altitud, lo que junto con otros factores ambientales, hacen que posean un microclima especial en el que se desarrollan determinadas especies vegetales que conforman un paisaje agreste y espectacular en el que conviven con especies animales muy caractersticas.Con estas premisas la Tinena de Benifass es un maravilloso lugar para practicar senderismo a lo largo de la extensa red de senderos homologados existentes y as entrar en contacto con una naturaleza casi intacta descubriendo parajes tan singulares como el Barranco de la Tenalla o el Portell del Infern, etc.Pero adems de parajes naturales de inters La Pobla de Benifass cuenta con un importante legado histrico que tratan de mantener en sus ermitas, iglesias y casas de rica arquitectura popular, como se han mantenido las huellas de los antiguos pobladores de estas tierras donde se conservan interesantes pinturas rupestres en las que contemplar escenas de caza y pesca. El Real Monasterio Cisterciense de Santa Mara de Benifass es la verdadera joya artstica de la zona.El monasterio se encontraba bastante destruido tras las Guerras Carlistas del siglo XIX y ha sido minuciosamente reconstruido recientemente volviendo de esta forma a su pasado esplendor la iglesia gtica, claustro, torres, etc. En la actualidad es posible visitarlo slo los jueves de las 13 a las 15 horas.

Viewed from this perspective, Tinena de Benifass is a wonderful place for hiking along the extensive network of currently approved trails and contact with a natural environment that is virtually intact, discovering such extraordinary places as the Barranco de la Tenalla or the Portell del Infern, (Gateway to Hell).However, apart from its natural attractions, Pobla de Benifass also has a significant historical legacy which it endeavours to maintain in its chapels, churches and houses displaying a rich variety of popular architecture, just as the tracks of its ancient settlers have been maintained through the conservation of interesting rock paintings depicting hunting and fishing scenes. The Royal Cistercian Monastery of Santa Mara de Benifass is the real artistic jewel in the areas crown.The monastery was in quite an advanced state of ruin after the Carlist Wars of the 19th century. Recently, however, it has been painstakingly reconstructed, thereby returning the Gothic church, cloisters, towers, etc to their former glory. Currently, it is only open to the public on Thursdays from 1 to 3 pm.

SANT MATEUSant Mateu, capital histrica y poltica del Maestrat, se encuentra situada en un llano en el centro de la comarca. Su casco antiguo, declarado Conjunto de Inters Histrico Artstico, ofrece al visitante monumentos, edificios muy bien conservados y museos, entre los que se encuentra el Museo de les Presons o el Museo Histrico. El municipio conserva edificios civiles muy interesantes de los siglos XIII y XVI, con fachadas de piedra, ventanales gticos y renacentistas, puertas adoveladas y arcos apuntados y escarzanos en los interiores de las mismas. En el siglo XIV, poca esplendorosa para Sant Mateu, se convirti en un importante centro exportador de lana a los telares de Florencia y su regin.A 2,5 Km. de Sant Mateu, se encuentra la Santuario de la Mare de Du dels ngels, del siglo XVI, donde, por su altitud, se goza de una inmejorable vista panormica del trmino.Sant Mateu dispone de varios senderos sealizados en el trmino municipal que en parte discurren por vas de tradicin histrica, como son los Senderos de Pequeo Recorrido (PR) 201, 202, 214 y la Va Augusta y los assegadors.

Sant Mateu, the historical and political capital of the Maestrazgo, is located on a plain in the centre of the region. Its historic quarter, officially declared to be a conservation area of special architecturaland historic interest, offers the visitor the chance to see some monuments and buildings that have been well preserved, along with four museums, including the Prison Museum and the History Museum. The town also maintains some very interesting examples of civilian architecture dating back to the 13th and 16th centuries, with stone walls, Gothic and Renaissance windows, and voussoired doors with segmental lancet arches inside. In the 14th century - a splendid time for Sant Mateu the town became an important centre for exporting wool to the looms of Florence and the surrounding area.At a distance of 2.5 Km from Sant Mateu is the 16th century sanctuary of Mare de Du dels ngels, perched on high, offering superb views of the whole region.Sant Mateu has several marked trails crossing through it, which in places follow ancient, well-trodden paths such as the Short Trails (PR) 201, 202, 214 and the Via Augusta, and the assegadors or cattle tracks.

TRAIGUERASituacin lindante con la Va Augusta, Traiguera ha sido habitada desde antiguo como atestiguan los restos de murallas, calles y plazas de trazado medieval y sus relevantes e histricos monumentos. Los ms emblemticos de la poblacin son el Real Santuario de la Font de la Salut, el Ayuntamiento, la fuente de Sant Vicent y la Iglesia Parroquial. Original de Traiguera es una larga tradicin alfarera que lleg a tener ms de 35 hornos, siendo los cntaros y botijos su producto ms universal. De ah que posean un interesante museo que custodia importantes obras de orfebrera de los siglos XIV y XV.Se trata de una villa amurallada, frecuente en el interior de la provincia de Castelln. El municipio est rodeado de naturaleza, otorgndole as una belleza paisajista en la que tienen cabida fuentes, olivos milenarios y cultivos ms recientes como los ctricos.

Being located close to the Via Augusta, Traiguera has always been inhabited since ancient times as can be seen from the medieval remains of the walls, streets and squares and its symbolic, historical monuments. The most emblematic in this town are the Real Santuario de la Font de la Salut (the Royal Sanctuary of the Fountain of Health), the Town Hall, the fountain of Sant Vicent and the parish church. Traiguera has a long pottery tradition, at one time having over 55 kilns, with water jugs and pitchers being their most universal product. Hence there is also an interesting museum with important gold and silverware dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries.Traiguera is a small fortified town - a common feature in the interior of the province of Castelln. The town is surrounded by nature, affording it real scenic beauty with its waterfalls and ancient olive groves, along with more recent crops like citrus fruits.

El Santuario se encuentra en una hondonada de la denominada Serra den Menor, a dos kilmetros de la poblacin de Traiguera. El monumento ms emblemtico de la poblacin, el Real Santuario de la Font de la Salut, es vestigio del paso por Traiguera de las rdenes de Montesa y de los Hospitalarios. Declarado Monumento Histrico Artstico (2007) tiene su origen en s. XIV es uno de los ms destacados de la provincia de Castelln.

The Sanctuary is located in a ravine called Serra den Menor, two kilometres from the town of Traiguera. The towns greatest landmark, the Real Santuario de la Font de la Salut is all that remains of the Orders of the Knights of the Hospital and Montesa as they passed through Traiguera. Declared to be a conservation area of historic and artistic interest (2007), dating back to the 14th century, it is one of the most important monuments in the province of Castelln.

XERTEn un paisaje dominado por muelas calcreas, las calles de Xert, ascienden hacia un altozano en la cima del cual se encuentra la antigua Iglesia Parroquial de los siglos XIII-XVIII y la plaza porticada con el edificio del antiguo ayuntamiento. Fuera del ncleo urbano destacamos el Ermitorio de Sant Pere y Sant Marc, situados en un paisaje entre altas y agrestes montaas del trmino, el cual cuenta con una interesante zona de olivos milenarios conservada gracias a la gran tradicin aceitera de la demarcacin.En su trmino se conservan restos de un importante poblado de la Edad del Bronce, la clebre Mola Murada, con recinto fortificado y restos de habitaciones en su interior. Es una fortaleza natural, rodeada de escarpes.

With its landscape dominated by limestone hills, the streets of Xert ascend to the upper part with the ancient parish church dating back to the 13th-18th century, and the colonnaded square with the building of the old town hall. Outside the main centre, the Ermitorio de Sant Pere y Sant Marc, a shrine located in an area of rugged, mountain terrain, is worth a visit. It has an interesting plantation of ancient olive groves, which has survived thanks to the long tradition of producing olive oil in the region.The ruins of an important settlement known as the Mola Murada, dating back to the Bronze Age, still survive in the area, with the fortified wall and vestiges of remains still visible inside. This is a natural fortress, surrounded by cragged rocks and precipices.

Regin con fuertes desniveles y profundos barrancos, est ubicada en la parte central y occidental de la provincia de Castelln, en una zona abrupta y remota, incluso en la actualidad, y que por ello sigue guardando un encanto especial.Parece que sus tierras ya fueron pobladas por los romanos. Ms tarde seran ocupadas por los rabes y durante la Reconquista fueron motivo de disputa entre aragoneses y catalanes. A finales del siglo XIII la Orden del Temple lleg a dominar en su totalidad la comarca y sus fortalezas. A su disolucin en 1313 pasaran a la Orden de Montesa, creada en la Corona de Aragn para acoger a los hombres templarios y a sus bienes. Las caractersticas de esta regin resultan propicias para atesorar la gran riqueza cultural de sus castillos, torres y fortalezas, en muchos casos legendarios.

A region with steep slopes and deep ravines, in the central and western part of the province of Castelln. Even today this is a remote, rugged area, conserving much of its special charm.These lands seem to have been settled by the Romans. They were subsequently occupied by the Arabs and often the subject of dispute between the peoples of Aragon and Catalonia during the Reconquest. At the end of the 13th century the Order of the Temple came to dominate the district and its fortresses in its entirety. When the Order was dissolved in 1313, these became the property of the Order of Montesa, created by the Crown of Aragon for the benefit of the knights templar and their assets.The physical features of this region were conducive to harbouring the rich cultural heritage of its castles, towers and fortresses, which in many cases are legendary.
