"Presta atención a lo que voy a decir. Después de la boda, voy a pedir al rey que te llame para que podamos pasar mis últimas horas juntas. Tú no deberás estar adormecida y me pedirás que te relate un cuento. Yo te contaré una historia que salvará a nuestro reino." Dunyazad inclinó la cabeza y estuvo de acuerdo con este plan. Esa noche, el rey Shahryar se casó con Scheherazade. Cuando la ceremonia hubo terminado y ellos se encontraban en el dormitorio real, Scheherazade se dejó caer de rodillas y empezó a llorar. - «Oh, grande y poderoso rey», dijo Scheherazade. «Tengo una hermana más joven y me gustaría despedirme de ella antes de morir». El rey aceptó y envió a buscar a Dunyazad.
