A la Casa Gandia Blasco se puede

llegar por caminos diferentes.

Comenzar por el relato de los hechos

concretos: fechas que han dado un

vuelco al destino de la empresa,

piezas que han marcado un hito en

el hábitat, alfombras que han roto

clichés, muebles que han borrado

la línea divisoria entre interior y

exterior. Sería un viaje a través de

las colecciones, del mobiliario a las

alfombras GAN, un repaso a fondo

de una pieza a otra, así hasta dar con

la chaise-longue más cómoda del

catálogo. Extenuados por el largo

trayecto, nos tumbaríamos bajo un

pino a orillas del Mediterráneo para

sentir en la piel la quintaesencia de

esta Casa.

O bien dejarnos de tantos rodeos y

entrar a la Casa Gandia Blasco sin

llamar al timbre, ir directamente a su

metabolismo para investigar qué clase

de combustible alimenta su motor.

¿Osadía?, ¿idealismo?, ¿convicción?,

¿tozudez? Del capital humano se

puede decir que no responde a una

plantilla de empleados al uso sino

a individualidades que creen en el

equipo, probablemente vía afinidades

electivas y autoselección. Más que la

coincidencia en una misma empresa

lo sorprendente es que comparten

la misma visión de la empresa. No es

muy normal que estas cosas sucedan

pero Gandia Blasco de normal tiene

poco. Es una entre un millón. No

esperes una casa prefabricada.

we would then kick back under a pine

tree at the foot of the Mediterranean

Gandia Blasco caressing our skin.

On the other hand, we could also

stop beating around the bush and

venture right into Casa Gandia

Blasco without even ringing the bell,

plunging straight into its metabolism,

eagerly nosing around, hungry to

identify which fuel drives its engine.

Boldness?, idealism?, conviction?,

stubbornness? In terms of the

company’s human capital, these

aren’t just regular employees. This is

vivir en la interfaz de los dispositivos

móviles conectados a la Red Ilimitada

podemos preguntarnos si tiene

sentido volver a una escala que

podamos tocar con las manos, un

territorio al que podamos llamar casa.

Un sitio con los olores y rugosidades

del mundo real, que integre los

escenarios de la vida en todo su

alcance. Un espacio que en vez de

fragmentar haga compatibles los

vínculos físicos, afectivos, lo funcional

y lo laboral. Y donde podamos acaso

proyectar también los significados

más recónditos del hogar. ¿Estamos

dispuestos a trascender asuntos como

estilo, decoración o tendencia para

profundizar en cómo queremos vivir?

¿Podemos imaginar un concepto de

casa – vida donde todo encaje?

La Casa Gandia Blasco se presenta

como un lugar real y a la vez

metafórico. Es una propuesta personal

más allá del mobiliario, que abre una

reflexión sobre las tramas del vivir

personal. Por supuesto, esta Casa

no está en venta. Es una invitación a

replantearnos de arriba abajo el tema

y apuntar soluciones que aligeren

nuestra existencia y nos faciliten la

experiencia de la plenitud y la Belleza.

REAL SPACE AND METAPHOR

Now that we’ve surrendered to the

world of mobile devices, constantly

connected to the unlimited Web,

it’s worth questioning whether it

makes sense to return to a scale

that we can touch with our hands,

to a territory that we can call home.

A place laden with the smells and

grooves of the real world, a space

that integrates the scenes of life

to their fullest extent. A space

that veers away from separation

to bring together the physical and

the emotional, function and work.

A place where we can even dare

to conjure up the most hidden

meanings of the home. Are we

willing to overstep issues like style,

decoration or trend to analyse

exactly how we want to live? Can

we imagine a life-house concept

where everything fits?

La Casa Gandia Blasco stands as

a real and a metaphorical space.

It’s a personal proposal that goes

beyond the furniture and opens

up a consideration about ways of

life and the role that design plays

in configuring the world we inhabit

and our relationship with people

and objects. Casa Gandia Blasco

considers the reciprocity between

the private and the social, and the

need to tackle substantial arguments,

identity, coexistence, culture, learning,

knowledge, business, personal

fulfilment. Obviously, Casa Gandia

Blasco is not for sale. It stands as

an invitation to reconsider the issue

from top to bottom and to suggest

solutions that lighten our existence

and facilitate the experience of

completeness and Beauty. There is

¿Hemos mencionado Na Xemena

en algún lugar? Probablemente

se ha dicho mucho de esta pieza

arquitectónica situada en lo

alto de un cerro frente al mar,

en la isla de Ibiza. Es la casa de

José A. Gandía-Blasco, aunque

es más que eso: Na Xemena

es la clave para entender esta

historia. Hacemos un viaje

iniciático que cierra el círculo

de principio a fin. Volvemos

al principio. Ocurrió por

casualidad, una idea peregrina:

construir unos muebles de

terraza aprovechando perfiles

de aluminio para ventanas.

Un invento casi en formato

DIY, hágaselo usted mismo,

la falta de dinero espolea la

imaginación.

Corría 1996, la oferta para

exterior acababa en el tresillo de

mimbre; había que improvisar

algo acorde con la rehabilitación

de la casa. Aquel experimento acabó

con el triple salto mortal sin red de

una compañía que de las mantas se

aventuró al mobiliario de exterior.

La minicolección Na Xemena con el

tiempo se convirtió en buque insignia

y objeto de culto. El destino siempre

encuentra la manera de cumplirse (y

sorprendernos).

Esta casa representa la cultura

estética, conceptual y espiritual de

Gandia Blasco, dejando en el aire

reminiscencias del origen, la brisa de

un mar atávico cuna de civilizaciones.

Una manera personal de entender la

mediterraneidad, la comunión con

la Naturaleza, la sensorialidad, la

luz y un cierto misticismo. Aunque

Na Xemena se puede leer como una

fábula con lección: sigue tu instinto,

hazle caso a tu intuición, cree en

tus propios sueños, ellos te guiarán

mejor que ninguna brújula. ¿Te ríes?

Podemos vivir sin muebles, incluso

sin casa. Pero no sin sueños.

HOME TO INSPIRATION. NA XEMENA

Have we mentioned Na Xemena yet?

A lot has probably been said about

this architectural piece located on

the top of a hill facing the sea, on the

island of Ibiza. The house belongs to

José A. Gandía-Blasco, although it’s

more than a house: Na Xemena holds

the key to understanding this story.

We will now embark on a journey, a

rite of passage, that closes the circle.

We need to go back to the beginning.

It happened by accident, almost. It

was born from an outlandish idea: to

manufacture outdoor furniture using

aluminium profiles for windows. It

was almost like DIY. Lack of money

fuels imagination.

The year was 1996, and the wicker

chair was the be all and end all of

outdoor furniture. It was high time to

improvise something that would tie in

with the rehabilitation of the house.

That experiment was like doing a

triple back flip without a safety net,

since the blanket company set its

eyes on outdoor furniture. Over

time, the mini-collection Na Xemena

became the company’s flagship

product and gained a cult-like status.

Fate always manages to find its way

(and to surprise us).

This house represents the aesthetic,

conceptual and spiritual culture

of Gandia Blasco, lacing the air

with reminiscences of its origin, an

atavistic sea that gave birth to several

civilizations. A personal manner of

understanding the Mediterranean,

the communion with Nature, the

sensoriality, the light and a certain

degree of mysticism. However, Na

Xemena can be taken as a cautionary

tale: follow your instinct, listen to your

intuition, believe in your dreams, they

will guide you better than a compass.

Does that sound funny? You can live

without furniture, you can even live

without a house. But you can’t live

without dreams.

CASA DE LA MEMORIA.

RECONOCERSE EN EL ESPEJO

¿De qué sirve haber llegado a un

centenar de países, tener tiendas y

showrooms repartidos por el globo

si cuando te miras al espejo no

sabes de dónde vienes? Si algo tiene

siempre presente Gandia Blasco es

su biografía. Se reinventó tras una

andadura de cuatro décadas (de

principios de los 40 hasta finales de

los 80) en la fabricación y exportación

de mantas de calidad. Con este bagaje

le dio una vuelta de tuerca al negocio

sin traicionar sus raíces.

La apuesta en aquel momento era de

alto riesgo: diseño contemporáneo.

Fiel a su origen, creó líneas de textiles

para el hogar, incorporando el mundo

de la alfombra. El énfasis lo puso en

la búsqueda de un lenguaje nuevo y

personal mediante el buen diseño.

A mediados de los 90 la empresa

Gandia Blasco debutó por sorpresa

en el ámbito del mobiliario de exterior

con Na Xemena, una pequeña

colección que dejó estupefactos a

todos. ¡Nadie la entendió! Pero era

cuestión de insistir, insistir.

Sigamos ahora con el tema de la

memoria y una de las maneras

más inteligentes de preservarla:

la arquitectura. El edificio sede de

Gandia Blasco habla de eso, de

expresar los valores mediante la

arquitectura. Pero sobre todo habla

de la capacidad de detectar esos

valores, recuperarlos y potenciarlos.

No basta con mirar, hay que saber

ver. Y actuar bien.

Iniciada su construcción en 1941, en

pleno núcleo urbano de Ontinyent,

este edificio era percibido –si lo era-

como el intento de un discípulo del

racionalismo de dejar una pieza con

carácter en la escuálida arquitectura

española de la posguerra. Con la

rehabilitación se han puesto alas

y pautas de poema visual a una

misma ventana que, antes de esta

intervención, se repetía sin la menor

chispa a lo largo y alto de la fachada.

Ahora en cambio excita la curiosidad:

algo se está cociendo dentro de la

Casa...

La simple decisión de ampliar los

lados del rectángulo ha reconducido

el guión al argumento esencial en la

arquitectura, el juego de la luz. La

luz es también el pilar sobre el que

descansan las narrativas de Gandia

Blasco: espacios luminosos y fluidos,

líneas esenciales, con alegría, sin

severidad. ¿No es precisamente esta

concepción vitalista del diseño, y

esta manera indolente y risueña de

entender la belleza lo que ha hecho

de esta marca una de las favoritas

en la escena internacional? Pero

cuidado, llegar a la simplicidad no es

tan simple como pueda parecer. No

vale ser simplones.

HOME TO MEMORY.

LOOK IN THE MIRROR

What use is it to have reached a

hundred countries and to have shops

and showrooms dotted around the

globe if you don’t recognise yourself

when you look in the mirror? Gandia

Blasco has never forgotten its

biography. The company rethought

itself after a four decade career

(spanning from the early 1940s to

the late 1980s) manufacturing and

exporting top quality blankets. They

took their expertise, gave it a twist

and stayed true to their roots.

At the time, they took a high risk

bet when they decided to put their

money on contemporary design. True

to its origin, the company designed

textile lines for the home, building

the world of carpets into their offer.

They focused on seeking a new

and personal language channelled

through excellent designs. In the

mid 90s the company Gandia Blasco

debuted unexpectedly in the outdoor

furniture sector with Na Xemena, a

small collection that blew everyone

away. Nobody understood it! They

didn’t give up though, they fought on.

Let’s go back to the subject of

memories and consider one of the

most intelligent ways of preserving

them: architecture. Gandia Blasco’s

head offices are about just that, about

translating values into architecture.

Above all, though, it’s about being

able to detect those values, to

recover them and promote them. It’s

not about looking, it’s about seeing.

And then acting accordingly.

Construction started in 1941, in the

very centre of Ontinyent. The building

was seen, by those who actually

noticed it, as an attempt crafted by a

disciple of rationalism to leave behind

a notable creation on the landscape of

squalid post-war Spanish architecture.

After the rehabilitation works, the

window that simply used to run up

and along the whole façade blankly

has now grown wings and taken on

the appearance of a visual poem.

Now it arouses curiosity: something’s

cooking in Casa Gandia Blasco...

The mere decision of expanding

the sides of the rectangle has

redirected the construction towards

the key concept in architecture,

light. Light is also the tentpole of

Gandia Blasco’s narrative: bright,

fluid spaces, essential lines, joyful,

gentle. Is it not precisely that

vitalist conception of design, and

that indolent and playful way of

understanding beauty, that has

made this one of the favourite

brands on the international

scene? Mind, though, achieving

this simplicity isn’t as simple as it

seems. We can’t be simpletons.

“Pasa, te enseñaré el edificio”, invita

José A. Gandía-Blasco, presidente

de la compañía. Él es el nexo, hilo

conductor entre pasado, presente y

futuro. Es un espíritu libre e inquieto.

Un buscador nato, un diseñador de

productos y un dibujante de caminos

nuevos. Y mejor todavía, nunca da

órdenes: “confío plenamente en mi

equipo”, afirma. Su estilo de mando

es doblemente eficaz, se basa en la

confianza en el otro. Seguramente

por eso nunca ejerció de abogado

tras estudiar la carrera de Derecho. A

“José” aquí se le tiene como uno más

del equipo. Es una figura que estimula

y aglutina, un creativo a su bola, en

el fondo. Ahora está ilusionado con

las posibilidades de la Casa Gandia

Blasco (que, por cierto, contiene en

su interior su propia vivienda, unos

argumentos dentro de otros a modo

de capas de la cebolla).

Él es quien nos conduce hasta las

tripas de este monstruo dormido

hasta hace poco, con más de 6.000

metros cuadrados (cuatro plantas,

sótano, semisótano y patio) que

ocupa una céntrica manzana en

la ciudad. Durante medio siglo el

tiempo se ha parado en algunas

de las destartaladas naves. Con la

rehabilitación La Casa estará lista

para contar relatos nuevos. “En estas

salas estaban las máquinas”, -dice-,

“y en aquellas se almacenaban las

mantas, se requería mucho espacio”.

A MAN IS KNOWN BY THE COMPANY

HE KEEPS

“Come in, I’ll show you the building,”

says José A. Gandía-Blasco, chairman

of the company. He’s the link, the

thread that connects past, present

and future. He is a free, restless spirit.

Born to hunt, to design products and

to draw new pathways. Amazingly, he

never gives orders: “I have blind faith

in my team,” he says. His command

style is twice as efficient, as it’s based

on trusting others. That’s probably

why he never worked as a lawyer,

although he studied Law. “José”

is just another team member. He

stimulates and brings them together,

but in the end he’s an independent

creative executive. He’s really excited

about the possibilities opened up by

Casa Gandia Blasco (which, actually,

accommodates his own house inside,

parts within parts, like the layers of

an onion).

He leads us into the belly of a

monster that remained dormant

until not long ago. The construction

spreads out over more than 6,000

sq. metres (four floors, basement,

mezzanine and courtyard), taking up

a whole block of the city. For over

half a century, time stood still in

some of the ramshackle warehouses.

Once the rehabilitation works are

completed, the structure will be

ready to tell new stories. “These

galleries housed the machines,” he

says, “and those were where the

blankets were stored because they

required a lot of space.”

Mientras recuerda esto, una delgada

hebra de sol se cuela mágicamente

en la penumbra de la estancia. No

estamos solos, millones de motas

de polvo flotando en la inmensidad

del tiempo hablan en silencio.

Comprendes entonces que la

seriedad de una empresa se mide

también por el respeto que muestra

hacia su pasado. Los catálogos no

suelen recoger instantes así. Quienes

han nacido en estas tierras reconocen

los olores del procesado de la lana,

el algodón, el trapo, los tintes, las

montañas y los ríos serviciales cerca.

Desde la Edad Media, mucho antes, el

alma de esta comarca es textil hasta la

médula. O lo era. Lo que queda de eso

sentimentalmente. La familiaridad

con las texturas y materias ha

desarrollado en Gandia Blasco una

buen artesano a la legua. Todo se

produce sin salir de casa; la calidad,

como la nobleza, obliga. Gracias a

esta lógica, el diseño suma categorías

HOME TO TEXTILE IDENTITY.

TACTILE INTELLIGENCE

As he thinks back to those days, a

sliver of sunlight magically slices

through the dark room. We are not

alone, millions of specks of dust float

in the immensity of time striking up a

silent conversation. You then realise

that a company’s standing is also

measured by its respect for the past.

Catalogues cannot capture moments

like that. People born in these lands

recognise the smell of processed

wool, cotton, cloth, dyes, the

convenience of the nearby mountains

and rivers. Since the Middle Ages, and

long before, the soul of this region

has been textile to the core. Or it was

at least. What remains is guarded and

stimulated by Gandia Blasco. Readily,

not snobbishly, as if it were the most

organic thing in the world.

Living your childhood to the beat of

textile mills marks your emotional

education. Their awareness of

textures and matters has allowed

Gandia Blasco to develop a very

fine tuned tactile intelligence. This

company also knows how to pick out

tiempo adherida al jersey y, de

camino al patio, José A. Gandía-

Blasco comenta con ilusión el

Proyecto. Ha llegado el momento de

que la Casa –lugar real y metáfora-

sea la expresión física y simbólica

de los principios que han dado vida

y seguirán impulsando la marca.

La marca es la Casa. Y eso implica

creatividad, movilidad, interrelación,

cruce, inventiva, transparencia. Hacer

visibles los valores que hay dentro,

alimentar el motor.

El espacio de oficinas y administración

se reubica ahora en una amplia

sección de la planta primera,

mientras la tercera y la cuarta

incorporan nuevas tramas orientadas

al intercambio de conocimiento, la

investigación y el debate. Encuentros,

talleres, exposiciones y workshops

conformarán un programa que

tiene por objetivo la unión de las

ideas con la praxis. No bastan las

intuiciones, hay que saber darles

contenido y forma, elegir el material

y la tecnología, producir el objeto

y, por último, saber comunicar su

valor distintivo y único en un mundo

FUELLING THE ENGINE

We rid our jumper of the fuzz of past

times and, on our way to the courtyard,

José A. Gandía-Blasco excitedly talks

about the Project. The time has come

for Casa Gandia Blasco –the real

place and the metaphor– to become

a physical and symbolical expression

of the principles that have give way

to and continue to fuel the brand.

The structure stands for the brand. It

involves creativity, mobility, interrelation,

exchange, invention, transparency. It

involves shedding light on the values

within, fuelling the engine.

The space designated for offices and

administration has been relocated

to a vast section on the first floor,

whilst the third and fourth floors are

home to new sections that cater to

the exchange of knowledge, research

and debate. Meetings, workshop and

exhibitions will structure a programme

that aims to combine ideas and

praxis. It goes beyond intuition,

it’s about giving them content and

shaping them, selecting the material

and the technology, producing the

object and, ultimately, being able

to communicate its distinctive and

unique value in a super competitive

world on a global scale.

This initiative strengthens Gandia

Blasco’s contribution to the creation

of new industrial dynamics, whilst

promoting synergies between the

corporate and production sectors,

the field of education and the world

of culture and arts. Their support

Unifamiliares, prefabricadas, ado-

sadas, desmontables… nos saltamos

estereotipos, rigideces y dogmas

sobre la casa. Ahora no es momento

para una mudanza o un cambio de

mobiliario sino para un cambio de

perspectiva. En las arenas de este

principio de siglo movedizo, ¿es

posible un concepto lo bastante sólido

para que la casa no se venga abajo?

La estrategia conceptual de esta

Casa ha sido trasladar el ejercicio

de diseño al epicentro mismo del

movimiento para conseguir resultados

duraderos y estables (no hay que

confundir estabilidad con estatismo).

Siguiendo esta dinámica identificamos

los tres conceptos desarrollados por

Este sistema de mapas cruzados de la

Casa sitúa al diseño ante uno de sus

retos más difíciles: ¿dónde acaba la

piel interior y comienza la exterior?

Tendremos que revisar los criterios

y preguntarnos si al salir de nuestro

microcosmos lo que hacemos en

realidad no es entrar en un cosmos

más amplio, llámese ciudad, campo

o Naturaleza. Esta Casa habla de

esas relaciones, contextos y de la

fluidez de nuestros espacios de vida.

HOME TO DESIGN.

OVERLAPPING MAPS FOR INDOOR,

PASSDOOR, OUTDOOR

Detached, prefabricated, semidetached,

detachable... Forget about stereotypes,

inflexibility and dogmas when it comes

to houses. It’s not a case of moving

or changing the furniture, it’s about

changing the perspective. In the sands

of this slippery turn of the century,

is there a concept sturdy enough to

stop a house crumbling down?

The conceptual strategy that structures

Casa Gandia Blasco has relied on

transferring the exercise in design

to the very epicentre of movement

to achieve long-lasting and stable

results (do not mistake stability with

immobility). This dynamic allows us

to identify the three concepts developed by Casa Gandia Blasco: Indoor,

Passdoor and Outdoor. This space continuum explains Casa Gandía Blasco

and structures the different furniture options. The success of a table, a

bench or sunshade goes beyond a convenient shape.

This system of overlapping maps faces design with one of its most difficult

challenges: where is the boundary that separates the inner skin from the

outer layer? We need to rethink criteria and ask ourselves if when we exit

our microcosm is it not, in fact, to enter a larger cosmos, be it city, country

or Nature. The Casa Gandia Blasco considers these relationships, contexts

and the fluidity of the spaces we live in. The impossibility of freezing

movement and action.


EL PATIO

CASA DE LA AMISTAD.

EL PATIO, CORAZÓN Y ÁGORA

Tras recorrer las distintas “casas”

salimos al patio y entramos en

otro sistema. ¿Cómo influye esta

gran cuadrícula al aire libre en las

dinámicas de la Casa? Basta pensar en

la función vital del corazón en nuestro

cuerpo. Aunque en otro orden el

patio representa la superestructura

organizativa, psicosocial y humanista

de la Casa. La base para la pluralidad

y la convivencia, la “polis” y “civitas”

de los clásicos. Pero esta Casa respira

en el hoy, crece y evoluciona.

Nos recibe Sansón, levantando su

corpachón y dándonos efusivos

abrazos talla XL (no debe saber que

es un perro, y menos aun, de raza

San Bernardo). “Sansón, si te pones

pesado te ataré”, le advierte José

A. Gandía-Blasco. Pero la ley de

Murphy al final se cumple; al perro

podía salirle mal y le sale. Atado en

la sombra del limonero escucha

las palabras de su amo, incluso las

que no le dirige a él: “Quiero que

este patio sea de todos”, - exclama

José A. Gandía-Blasco. “¡Guau! ¡Guau!,”

-protesta Sansón, como diciendo ¡este

patio es mío!

Cuando zanjas la disyuntiva entre

el tiempo productivo y el lúdico

encuentras momento para todo.

Aquí se recupera el olvidado arte de

la conversación; este lugar remite al

ágora de la antigua Grecia, espacio

público por excelencia. Agradeces

que esto sea un patio real de una

casa real de un pueblo real (aunque

el país parezca cada día más irreal).

El chiringato (acrónimo de chiringuito

+ gato -el anagrama de la empresa)

es el trasunto del patio, trasladado

al chill out del jardín o la terraza.

Simboliza el espíritu convivencial,

supercool, la dimensión profunda del

homo ludens. De hecho, en el patio

se celebran barbacoas, los medios

improvisan platós y en el momento

más impremeditado la gente se tira

a la piscina. Un limonero, un naranjo

y un laurel aquí dan mucho juego.

La vida no tiene por qué ser tan

complicada.

En este patio captas la química de

este lugar e intuyes sus infinitas

posibilidades. Pero el guión no está

escrito, de hecho el relato no acaba

sino que empieza aquí. Uno aprende

a habitar esta Casa como aprende a

vivir en su propia piel. Sin manual de

instrucciones, sobre la marcha.

HOME TO FRIENDSHIP. THE COURTYARD, HEART AND AGORA

After visiting the different “homes” we walk out into the courtyard and into a

different system. How does this large open air square influence the dynamics

of Casa Gandia Blasco? It mirrors the vital role that a heart plays in a body.

Nevertheless, in other ways the courtyard represents the organisational,

psychosocial and humanist superstructure of Casa Gandia Blasco. It

establishes the grounds for plurality and coexistence, the “polis” and the

“civitas” of Antiquity. Yet this construction lives, breathes and evolves in the

present.

We’re welcomed by Sansón, standing on his huge hind quarters and giving

us warm XL size hugs (he must not know he’s a dog and, even less, a Saint

Bernard). “Sansón, if you get in the way I’ll have to tie you up,” warns José

A. Gandía Blasco. Enter Murphy’s Law. The dog could mess things up, and

he does. Shaded by a lemon tree, he listens attentively to his master’s voice,

even when his words aren’t directed at him: “I want this courtyard to be for

everyone,” says José A. Gandía-Blasco. “Woof! Woof!,” Sansón protests, as if

to say ‘The courtyard’s mine!’

When you sort out the problem of dealing with productive and leisure time,

you realise there is time for everything. This space recuperates the forgotten

art of conversation; it echoes the agora of ancient Greece, the quintessential

public space. How wonderful to find this real courtyard in a real house in a

real village (even though the country seems less real by the day).

The chiringato (a word put together mixing two Spanish terms: chiringuito

(kiosk) + gato (cat) –the corporate anagram) is a reflection of the courtyard, an

invitation to chill out in the garden or terrace. It is a symbol of the easygoing,

super cool spirit, the deepest dimension of the homo ludens. In fact, the

courtyard is home to barbecues, it’s where the media improvise sets and

where people plunge into the pool when least expected. A lemon tree, an

orange tree and a laurel add a lot to the scene. Life does not have to be that

complicated.

In the courtyard one feels the chemistry of the place and infers the infinite

possibilities. Yet the script is still unwritten, the tale does not end here, it’s

only just beginning. One learns to inhabit Casa Gandia Blasco just like one

learns to live in one’s skin. No instruction manual, you learn on the go.

a partir de una mezcla de fibras naturales y plástico, dando lugar a un producto que

conjuga las mejores propiedades de ambos materiales. La peculiar combinación de

estos materiales da al producto una textura cálida como la madera y garantiza un

dilatado ciclo de vida. Por su gran resistencia, puede utilizarse en ambientes húmedos y

en el exterior, manteniendo de forma óptima sus propiedades.

A new technological material, 100% recyclable and exclusive of Gandia Blasco, that mixes

natural and plastic fibres to make a product that combines the best properties of both.

The particular blend of these materials gives the product a warm texture similar to

wood and guarantees a long life cycle. Extremely hardwearing, it can be used both in

damp conditions and outdoor areas and still maintain its excellent properties.

En el proceso de diseño de sus productos, Gandia Blasco tiene en cuenta el ciclo de

vida de los productos, para que, una vez finalizada la vida útil de los mismos, produzcan

el menor impacto medioambiental posible. Por esto, la gran mayoría de sus piezas

están fabricadas con materiales que pueden ser reciclados ó reutilizados (aluminio,

polietileno …).

When designing products, Gandia Blasco considers their life cycle to ensure that once

they complete their useful life they cause the least possible environmental impact.

Consequently, most pieces are manufactured using recyclable or reusable materials

(aluminium, polyethylene,…).

DE LA VENTAGENERAL SALES CONDITIONS

PEDIDOS

El cliente deberá formalizar correctamente el pedido vía email o fax. No se aceptarán

pedidos escritos a mano.

Todos los pedidos tienen que llevar una referencia de cliente o una referencia

numérica.

Todas las líneas de descripción del producto, términos de venta, referencias, etc, se

deben comprobar una vez recibida la factura pro forma enviada por Gandia Blasco.

Reclamar factura pro forma en caso que no haya llegado pasados 72 horas de la

formalización del pedido.

No se aceptarán cambios en los pedidos 72 horas después de la recepción de la pro

forma.

No se aceptarán devoluciones de mercancía sin la previa autorización de Gandia Blasco.

ORDERS

Orders must be placed correctly via e-mail or fax. No hand-written orders will be

accepted.

All orders must include a reference of the customer or a numerical reference.

After receiving the pro-forma invoice from Gandia Blasco please check every line

referring to the product description, sales conditions, references, etc. Please ask for

the pro-forma invoice if you haven’t received it 72 hours after placing the order.

No changes will be accepted 72 hours after receiving the pro-forma invoice.

No returned goods will be accepted without the previous authorisation of Gandia

Blasco.

El retraso en los pagos o cualquier anomalía en estos, implica la retención de los pedidos

pendientes, siendo por cuenta del comprador todos los gastos financieros y jurídicos

que se deriven del incumplimiento de lo acordado.

Esta tarifa de precios anula las anteriores.

La formalización de un pedido implica la aceptación de las presentes condiciones

generales.

RECLAMACIONES

Los daños causados por el transporte deberán ser reportados durante las 72 horas

siguientes a la descarga de la mercancía. Esta reclamación debe ir acompañada del nº de factura correspondiente y con la nota de entrega firmada en destino; indicando

claramente las observaciones de daños externos visibles en las cajas. Si es posible hay

que aportar una fotografía del estado en el que se encuentra el embalaje en la descarga.

Gandia Blasco no se hará cargo de ningún daño causado por el transporte notificado

con posterioridad a las 72 horas.

Cualquier reclamación por defecto de fabricación se tramitará indicando el número

de factura correspondiente a la mercancía, indicando por escrito los defectos o daños

y adjuntando una fotografía de los mismos vía email. Gandia Blasco no se hará cargo

de ninguna reclamación que no se haya tramitado facilitando correctamente los datos

requeridos.

Gandía Blasco ofrece una garantía de 2 años a partir de la fecha de adquisición de sus

productos. Esta garantía cubre defectos de material y defectos de fabricación. Gandía

Blasco declina cualquier responsabilidad por desperfectos derivados de un mal uso o

tratamiento indebido de los productos, aceptando únicamente las devoluciones por

defectos de fabricación.

According to the previously established commercial conditions.

Any delay or anomaly in payment will lead to retention of the outstanding orders. Any

financial or legal costs arising out of the non-compliance with the agreed terms will be

born by the buyer.

This price list cancels all previous price lists.

The placement of an order implies the acceptance of these general conditions.

COMPLAINTS

Damages caused by transport must be reported during the following 72 hours after

unloading the goods. The complaint must be lodged together with the respective invoice

number and the delivery note signed at destination, clearly indicating the external,

visible damages of the boxes. If possible, attach a picture of the state of the packing

when unloading it. Gandia Blasco does not accept any transport damage if reported

after 72 hours from delivery.

Any complaint due to a manufacturing defect must be lodged indicating the

corresponding invoice number with a written description of the defects or damages

and attaching a picture via e-mail. Gandia Blasco will not accept any complaint which

has not been lodged including all required details.

Gandía Blasco grants a guarantee of 2 years from the time the products were purchased.

This guarantee covers material and manufacturing defects. Gandía Blasco does not

accept any responsibility for defects derived from the wrong use or undue handling of

the products, and only accepts returns due

to manufacturing defects.

RECOMENDACIONES GENERALESUtilizar el Kit de Limpieza Gandia Blasco para las estructuras y accesorios.Seguir las instrucciones y recomendaciones de mantenimiento de las tapicerias según la ficha técnica de cada una de las referencias. Las encontrarán en cada uno de nuestros muebles.

MANTENIMIENTO Y USO GENERALPara una óptima conservación de los muebles se recomienda limpiar periódicamente todos los elementos del mueble, como se indica en las instrucciones de limpieza, evitando así la acumulación de suciedad e impurezas sobre el mueble. En ambientes marinos o con elevada humedad ( como SPA’s, Beach Clubs, …) es recomendable extremar las precauciones de limpieza, especialmente en las colecciones de acero inoxidable. Es aconsejable realizar un mantenimiento exhaustivo al inicio y al final de cada temporada, revisando todos los elementos que componen el mueble y realizando una buena limpieza de estos, haciendo hincapié entre los huecos de las tablas para evitar la excesiva acumulación de polvo y suciedad. Los muebles son resistentes a ralladuras e impactos bajo condiciones normales de uso. La exposición prolongada a temperaturas superiores a 60° C (140° F) puede causar daños en los materiales con los que están fabricados.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONSUse the Gandia Blasco Cleaning Set for frames and accessories.Follow the care instructions and recommendations for the upholsteries according to the respective technical data sheet. The data sheets are included with our furniture.

CARE AND GENERAL USEClean all elements regularly to ensure the furniture remains in an optimal condition. Follow cleaning instructions to avoid dirt and impurities accumulating on the furniture. Additional cleaning precautions are recommended near the coast and in atmospheres with a high level of humidity (SPAs, beach clubs...), especially with stainless steel collections. It is advisable to carry out thorough care procedures and check the furniture and all elements at the beginning and the end of every season, especially between table holes, to remove dust and dirt accumulations. The furniture is resistant to scratches and impacts under normal use conditions. Prolonged exposure to temperatures above 140ºF (60 ºC) may harm the materials.
