Dirigido por Morgan Neville,este laureado documental,estrenado en el Sundancefilm festival de 2013 yganador del Oscar 2014,revisa ms de cinco dcadasde transitar por la industria discogrfica dela talentosa corista estadounidense DarleneLove; a la que se suman Merry Clayton y LisaFischer, entre otras. A partir de videos,entrevistas a luminarias de la msica ycolegas de oficio, nos muestra cmo el camino al reconocimiento de estas artistas,aunque sinuoso y amargo por momentos, tambin est colmado de satisfaccionesy amor por la msica.Desde siempre, quienes se dedican a ser coristas suelen despertar pocacuriosidad en los amantes de la msica. Su anonimato, casi absoluto, quecontrasta con su pericia vocal, les permite en muchas ocasiones moverse entregneros musicales diversos, sin que esto les genere los seguidores y la notoriedadmerecida. En 20 Feet from Stardom se rinde tributo a quienes ejercen este oficio,y tangencialmente nos brinda una particular visin de la evolucin del pop y elrock a partir de aquellas que han acompaado a artistas de la talla de Ray Charles,los Rolling Stones, Bruce Springteen, Stevie Wonder y Sting, por slo citar aalgunos de los grandes del espectculo.La figura central del documental es Darlene Love, quin trabaj para artistas comoElvis Presley, Sonny and Cher, The Beach Boys, Tom Jones y Dionne Warwick, entreotros. Integrante del legendario grupo The Blossoms, entr al mundo de la msicaa finales de los aos 50, siendo el controversial productor Phil Spector quien lepropiciara xitos como el tema Christmas (Baby please come home) del ao 1963.Esto no evit que tuviese severas diferencias con l debido al manejo de su carrera.Se nos muestra cmo todo su talento no la alej de los altibajos emocionales que lasacaron de la escena musical y pospusieron su inicio definitivo como solistacumplidos los 40 aos de edad, y cmo muchas de las coristas entrevistadascomenzaron su actividad musical en iglesias, debido al hecho de que sus padreseran pastores religiosos. En otro de los pasajes de este material aparece la grancorista Tata Vega, quien nunca logr obtener el soado triunfo como solista a pesarde sus indudables dotes vocales, reconocidas por artistas como Elton John y StevieWonder, entre otros. Igual suerte tuvo Claudia Lennear, miembro del grupo TheIkettes, que acompa a Ike & Tina Turner y fue estrecha colaboradora de losRolling Stones, David Bowie y Joe Cocker, a quien la fama no le sonri como solista,saliendo del mundo de la msica para dedicarse a ser profesora de espaol.El espritu camalenico de quienes son coristas queda de manifiesto al ver larevisin que hace The Waters family de su actividad musical; misma que lesllev a participar en el disco Thriller de Michael Jackson, la banda sonora de lapelcula The Lion King y en la grabacin de los graznidos de las aves aliengenasdel film Avatar. Por su parte, Bruce Springteen explica lo difcil que puede sersaltar de corista a solista, hecho que va mucho ms all de los 20 pies que suelensepararlas en el escenario de la figura principal y que, dicho sea de paso, danombre al documental. Resulta curioso y muy grato ver a Mick Jagger y Stinghablar sobre lo que han aportado a canciones como Gimme Shelter y Houndsof Winter las coristas Merry Clayton y Lisa Fischer respectivamente,calificndolas, sin egosmo alguno, como estrellas.En fin, un material audiovisual que merece ser visto. OPTIONS IF YOU ARE IN THE CITY AND DONT WANT TOFACE TRAFFIC. HOWEVER, WE FORGET THAT TABOGAISLAND IS LITERALLY 20 KMS FROM THE CITY, AND ONLY50 MINUTES BY BOAT. FOR MOST, THIS IS A CONVENIENT,

QUICK AND AFFORDABLE ALTERNATIVE.

Las mejores opciones para llegar son el bote Calypso,que sale de la playita de Amador en el Causeway, y losbarcos de National Tours, que se toman frente alYacht Club, justo a la entrada del Causeway.En esta ocasin decidimos aventurarnos en el Calypso, que delunes a viernes tiene su salida a las 8:30 am; mientras que lossbados, domingos y feriados, a las 8:00 y 10:30. Personal-mente recomiendo estar temprano en el Causeway para poderdisfrutar con tranquilidad del trayecto hasta el muelle. Mediahora antes debemos tener nuestros boletos comprados, lo quenos permite tomarnos una bebida refrescante mientras espe-ramos para embarcar; porque la salida hacia Taboga es puntual.Cuando comenzamos a subir al barco nos percatamos de quela mayora vamos a disfrutar de la isla con nuestros sombreros,olor a bloqueador y las risas propias de un da de descanso. Se siente alegra y excitacin en el ambiente. Los pasajerosmiran hacia un lado y otro para decidir cul es el mejor puesto,si conviene ms empezar a tomar el sol en la parte superior delbarco, o acomodarse en la planta baja, a la sombra. Luego, losms experimentados buscan sus salvavidas, y entonces poco apoco todos vamos a escoger el nuestro, pensando que segurolos primeros se quedaron con los mejores. Sin casi darnos cuenta, el bote ya est saliendo del puerto; anuestra derecha quedan los grandes yates y a nuestra izquierdalos llamados mendigos del mar (por no atracar en puerto).Las gaviotas nos acompaan en todo momento esperando mo-vimiento de peces a nuestro paso. La hora de trayecto se pasarpido, algunos pasajeros hacen fotos a los barcos que estnatravesando el Canal, otros se adormecen con el sonido pau-sado del barco. El mismo paseo es parte del disfrute del da deplaya.Nos vamos acercando a la Isla de las Flores -como tambin sele conoce-, un pintoresco pueblo con sus casitas colocadas a lolargo de la ladera. Sus colores se mezclan en combinacin per-fecta, amarillos, verdes, azules, blancos, naranjas; y el puerto,con sus barquitas de pescadores en sintona con la mismaaldea. Llegamos todos ilusionados, con ganas de desembarcar.Nos dirigimos a la arena en busca del mejor sitio y nos dejamos asesorar por los locales que ya tienen montadas sombrillas ysillas de playa. Es hora del primer chapuzn en estas aguascolor verde azul transparente.Tambin recomiendo pasear por sus calles, para disfrutar decerca del colorido de cada casa que va combinada con diversi-dad de plantas y flores. El resultado es una postal alegre, todose siente vivo.Taboga es un pueblo lleno de historia, cuenta con una placitadonde todava se conservan los caones de Santa Catalina.Tambin destaca su iglesia, La Iglesia de San Pedro, que es lasegunda ms antigua del continente americano. La casa deFrancisco Pizarro, famoso explorador espaol del siglo XVI, esotro punto de inters, actualmente restaurada.Para los que gustan de las caminatas, deben venir preparadoscon calzado cmodo y subir a alguno de sus cerros de origenvolcnico. El mirador del Viga, que tiene un dispositivo deorientacin para la navegacin area, da la bienvenida a losaviones que se acercan a la ciudad de Panam; o el Cerro de laCruz, llamado as por la presencia de una gran Cruz, y desdedonde se divisa toda la isla.Van llegando las 12:00 del medioda y se comienza a notar mo-vimiento de almuerzo. Tenemos varias opciones, o acercarnosa alguno de los restaurantitos de la isla, unos con vistas msprivilegiadas que otros, o comer en los bohos a pie de playa.Nos decidimos por esta ltima alternativa. Escogimos el pes-cado fresco que nos frieron al autntico estilo panameo,acompaado con patacones, arroz y yuca; disfrutndolo debajode nuestra sombrilla. Definitivamente ningn plato tiene mejorsabor que el que se come a orillas del mar.El resto de la tarde la dejamos pasar entre chapuzones y lec-tura. No hay prisa, Calypso nos est esperando pacientementeen el puerto para zarpar a las 4:30. De regreso a la ciudad seescuchan las conversaciones de disfrute, de cunto ms bron-

ceado est uno que otro, de cundo volver a Taboga; una horams tarde ya estamos nuevamente en el Causeway. En fin, nadams relajante que un da de playa.The best options for getting to the island are the CalypsoFerry, which leaves the Amador Causeway; and theNational Tours boats which are taken from the YachtClub, right at the entrance of the Causeway.This time, we decided to venture off on the Calypso, whichdeparts at 8:30 am on weekdays, and 8:00 am and 10:30 amon Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. I recommend arriving tothe Causeway early and enjoying the drive to the pier. Ticketsmust be purchased a half hour before departure, allowing ustime for a refreshing drink while we wait to board.Departures to Taboga are punctual. When we board the boat,we realize that most are ready to enjoy the island with hats,the smell of sunblock and laughter suitable for a day off.Joy and excitement is felt in the air. Passengers look to eitherside to decide which place is best; sunbathing on the deck ofthe boat or enjoying the shady ground floor. Then, the moreexperienced travelers reach for life jackets, while wegradually pick ours and think that surely the best ones havealready been taken.Almost without realizing it, the boat is pulling away from thepier. To our right, there are large yachts and to our left thoseknown as "sea beggars" (for not docking at port). Seagulls flyalongside the boat waiting to see fish in its wake. The hourjourney passes quickly. Some passengers take pictures of theboats that are crossing the Canal, while others are lulled tosleep by the hum of the boat. The journey is part of the daysenjoyment.We are getting closer to the island of flowers, as it is alsoknown, a picturesque village with its houses along the hillside.Their colors blend seamlessly; yellow, green, blue, white,orange; and the pier with its small fishing boats that match thevillage. We all arrive excited, wanting to disembark. We head tothe sand, looking for the best spot, and take a cue from thelocals who have already set up their umbrellas and beachchairs. It's time for the first dip in the clear blue-green waters.I recommend walking the streets, and enjoying the colorfulhouses up-close in combination with the diverse plants andflowers. Its like a cheerful postcard where everything feels alive.

Taboga is a town full of history. There is a small town squarewhich has preserved Santa Catalina cannons. Anotherhighlight is the San Pedro Church, which is the second oldestin the Americas. The newly restored house of FranciscoPizarro, a famous 16th Century Spanish explorer, is anotherpoint of interest.For those who like walking, come equipped with comfortableshoes, and climb one of the volcanic hills. The Vigia lookoutpoint, which has a positioning device used in aerialnavigation, welcomes aircraft approaching Panama City.There is also the Cerro de la Cruz, named for its large cross,and from where there is a view of the entire island.Noon arrives, and lunchtime movement begins. We have severaloptions; one of the many restaurants on the island, some withbetter views than others, or a beach hut. We choose the latter.Lunch is traditional fried fish served with fried plantains, riceand cassava, and we enjoy it from under our umbrella. No dishtastes better than the ones eaten on the shore.The rest of the afternoon is spent between dips in the sea andreading. There is no rush as the Calypso waits patiently at thepier to set sail at 4:30. On the journey back to the city, there isenjoyable chatter about who has the better tan and when toreturn to Taboga. An hour later, we are back on theCauseway. In short, there is nothing more relaxing than a dayat the beach.

Unacarretera con muchas curvas lo llevar en un pin-toresco viaje de dos horas a travs de la campia colombiana.La escultura del Fnix de Amrica da la bienvenida a quienesvisitan el pueblo de El Peol, que fue inundado en 1978 paraconstruir un embalse para una central hidroelctrica en el roNare. Esta hidroelctrica provee el 30% de la energa elctricade Colombia. Puede pasar por la rplica del Viejo Peol, que es un sitio convistas panormicas y puestos de artesanas y comida para losturistas. El recorrido sigue hacia la impresionante Piedra Del Peol,adorada por los indgenas Tahames, quienes eran los habi-tantes originales de la zona. A esa poca pertenece la leyendaque cuenta que el diablo trat de llevarse la piedra en variasocasiones; y como prueba de ello est la grieta que sali alpie del monolito.Esta grieta fue la que utilizaron los alpinistas para subir hastaque se construy una escalera de mampostera que pareceuna gigantesca cremallera. Subir tiene un costo de 10,000 COP(menos de $5). A veces la novia llega dudando, y noes por el vestido sino porque est llegando la fecha.Cul es tu mayor inspiracin?Primero empezamos con una lista de qu es loque no te pondras nunca, porque as ya s quno ofrecerle en boceto. En mis trabajos siempreincluyo mi gusto, mi estilo personal, pero respe-tando lo que las hace sentir cmodas.Y cul es tu mayor temor con una novia?El mayor temor es que la novia en medio de laprueba, con el estrs de la situacin, diga en ver-dad esto no es lo que quera y ya ests a mitadde camino, con el vestido armado. Por eso todo tiene que ir acompaado de un bo-ceto. No se trata de que yo me lo imagine, y quela novia no tenga idea de lo que est pasando. Para m existen dos tipos de clientas: la que con-fa en ti plenamente, y la que le cuesta un pocoms imaginar cmo va a terminar el vestido.Me fijo en su muro de corcho, donde Paolaconserva trabajos y publicacionesVeo quete gustan los bordados?

Me encantan los bordados, los encajes, los tules!(nos confiesa con real emocin).Tuve la oportunidad de trabajar con Sara Bazn. Ensu atelier se manejan textiles finsimos, y ahaprend realmente a mimar este tipo de telas tan de-licadas. Juego con las transparencias, detalles enmayas. Todo esto se trabaja con mucha delicadeza.Sigues tendencias? Qu piensas de ellas?S, trato de mantenerme informada, adems lastendencias cambian constantemente. Tengodesde clientas muy jvenes hasta seoras, y laverdad uno tiene que saber cmo adaptar lo queest pasando a la clienta. Hay algn color de tu preferencia?(El rostro de Paola se ilumina). Mi color favorito esel que est en la puerta, el chartreuse verdelimn. Es lo primero que veo en las maanas.Me trasmite mucha energa, es un color vibrante,va con mi personalidad. Si ves el atelier es muchocolor. Un color que no me apasiona pero que a veces mepiden es el rojo, he aprendido a trabajar con l. Altratarse de un color universal, que le va bien a todoel mundo, es infalible. En cuanto al trabajo, hayque saber trabajar con todos los colores.

Hay una nueva generacin de diseadoraspanameas?Bastante fuerte. Este sector est creciendo y esome alegra muchsimo. Ahora con las redes sociales y con las diseado-ras jvenes, la gente ve que existe otra opcinque al final no es tan costosa como crean, ni lesresulta distante. Aparte en Panam ya se puede estudiar Diseo.Cuando yo estaba empezando, la formacin quehaba era muy bsica. En mi caso empec mi ca-rrera en Savannah College of Art and Design y deah me traslad a California, muy enfocada en di-seo de moda.Pensando en la gente joven, cul es el ca-mino a seguir para ser diseadora de moda?Creo que lo ms importante es la pasanta para ex-perimentar y aprender sin poner en riesgo tumarca. Adems, la parte de negocio, y administrarun equipo de produccin, es un dolor de cabeza.Qu buscan las clientas de Paola?Vienen buscando telas especiales que no encuen-tran aqu, les gusta que les de mi referencia delos colores, de la silueta que les va bien. You have to beable to adapt what is happening to the client.Do you have a favorite color?(Paolas face lights up). My favorite color is onthe door, chartreuse - a lime green. Its the firstthing I see in the morning. It gives me a lot ofenergy. Its a vibrant color that matches mypersonality. You can see that there is a lot ofcolor in the atelier. Red is a color Im not passionate about but havelearned to work with. There isnt a universalcolor that goes well with everyone. As for work,one must be able to work with all colors.Is there a new generation of Panamaniandesigners?A strong one. Its a growing field, and that makesme really happy.Because of social media and young designers,people see that there is another option that isntas expensive or unattainable as was oncebelieved.You can now study design in Panama. Internships are the best way to experiment andlearn without jeopardizing your brand. Besides,the business aspect, and managing a productionteam, are a real pain in the neck. What do Paolas clients look for?They come looking for special fabrics that arentavailable here, they like my opinion on colors, orwhat silhouette best suits them. Estas Festividades coinciden tambin con eldesarrollo de la Feria Artesanal/Cultural y Tu-rstica de El Valle de Antn. Esta cuarta edi-cin, ya con grandes expectativas que superar,inici el pasado 13 de marzo, y durante 7 das fue elpunto ideal para pasar una hermosa maana, disfrutarun buen almuerzo, o vivir un hermoso atardecer en ElValle. Con un excelente clima al aire libre, cada mo-mento estuvo lleno de una gran variedad de presenta-ciones folclricas; y durante toda la feria estuvieron enfuncionamiento, de manera permanente, una serie dejuegos mecnicos especialmente pensados para el en-tretenimiento de las familias que nos visitan. No poda faltar la presencia de la Autoridad de Turismocon su stand, que constantemente contribuye a la cre-ciente demanda turstica del rea, y siempre contandocon el apoyo del Seor Ministro Jess Sierra, quien creefirmemente en nuestra iniciativa cultural. Toda la actividad se llev a cabo dentro de lo previsto,teniendo el apoyo y presencia incondicional de la Al-caldesa de Antn, Jisslena Vidales Corro, y de la Gober-nadora de Cocl, la Licda. Activities ran assmoothly as expected and were supportedunconditionally through the presence of Anton Mayor,Jisslena Vidales Corro, and the Governor of Cocle,Sugeidy Flores. They enjoyed their stay in the Valleyand even took the opportunity to visit the VictorianoLorenzo Museum, located exactly within thefairgrounds. The Panama National Police were incharge of security. Undisputed merit must again begiven to Commissioner Ibeth Gonzalez, whocollaborated with us during these important dates.The large number of tourists who visited us onWednesday, March 18 had the opportunity to attendthe National Assistance Lottery. Joy was brought tomany El Valle homes thanks to Cocle Regional Director,Julio Rodriguez.El Valle benefited directly by way of this fair for yetanother year. It represents a very positive andnecessary economic and cultural boost to our beautifulcommunity. Its success makes it one of the Cocle areasmost important, and definitely the most significant inthe Anton Valley. Thalaseus maximus Es una especie de ave de la familia Sternidae. Tieneun capirote negro crestado y un pico fuerte decolor naranja. Es el ms comn de los charranesgrandes y su hbitat se extiende de Norte a SurAmrica, tanto en las costas del Atlntico, como del Pac-fico. En Panam, su amplio territorio abarca las costas delPacfico y el Caribe, y el Archipilago de Las Perlas; aunqueen realidad es ms frecuente encontrarlos en el Pacfico. Los charranes reales miden unos 50 cm (19,5 ") y cuen-tan con una envergadura de 110 cm (43,5), mostrn-dose robustos y resistentes en la tierra y elegantesmientras vuelan. Viven en colonias, son pescadoresadeptos, y producen una camada de dos pollos por aocada una. Rosa Landero, Xenn Santamara, ChichoAtenci y la familia Caballero Vindas, integrada por Jos Leonidas,Heriberta y sus hijos, hacan de este recndito paraje entre monta-as, un valle extremadamente hermoso y productivo, su hogar.La msica de los Beatles y los Doors se escuchaba en la radio y elmovimiento psicodlico era el boom en el primer mundo; al mismotiempo esta gente trabajadora se levantaba a diario para hacer pro-ducir esta tierra. La familia Caballero Vindas estaba formada pordos varones y cinco nias, Carmen Cecilia, Nubia Mildred, Jos Leo-nidas (JR), Ruby Etzel, Edith Argelis, Jos Abdiel y Maria Eugenia.Despus de 8 aos al frente una tienda (desde 1963), decidierondejar este negocio por lo pesado del mismo. La hija menor, MariaEugenia, tena 11 meses. Fue entonces que la Sra. Heriberta Vin-das decidi empezar un jardn. En esos das tena sembradoen la mayora de la propiedad Agapantos o Flor del Amor(Agapanthus africanus), Calas Lirio de agua, Alcatraz, Arode Etiopa, Cartucho, Lirio Cala (Zantedeschia aethiopica) yClaveles (Dianthus caryophyllus).La carretera era slo un camino de piedras, en su mayorparte intransitable para autos, y en poca lluviosa el lodoatascaba hasta a los caballos; la primera vez que se pavi-ment fue en 1981. Los principales clientes del Jardn Maryen aquel tiempo eran los seores Silvia Goff y Gustavo Ruiz, yposteriormente se corri la voz de los hermosos Lirios entre lasfloristeras. El hmedo lugar era propicio para este tipo de plantas,

por lo que floristeras como Panaflores, Plan-tas y Flores, y Cerro Punta S.A. se sumaroncomo asiduos clientes, al igual que la SraElsy Ruiz y diversas floristeras de laciudad Capital.Este humilde jardn empez paraayudar en la economa domstica,y complementar las entradas parala educacin de los hijos, sin em-bargo tras la prdida del esposo,el seor Jos Leonidas, el 30 demarzo de 1983, sola, la seora He-riberta termin de educar a sushijos. Jos Abdiel estudiaba Zootec-nia en Recife, Brasil, Maria Eugeniaterminando el colegio en el InstitutoDavid, Edith Argelis terminaba tambinla universidad como tcnico en edifica-ciones en la U. Tecnolgica, y el hijo menor,el benjamn, Jos Ameth, nacido en 1977,apenas entraba a primer grado de la escuela.As pues, este proyecto, el plan B, un jardn paraayudar a su familia, se transform en el princi-pal negocio de los restantes de la Familia Caba-llero Vindas quienes a la fecha, todos, hanllegado a ser profesionales gracias al esfuerzo,la dedicacin y el amor de su madre, una traba-jadora, emprendedora e incansable mujer que aveces nos hace preguntarnos de dnde viene sufuerza. Quienes la conocen la admiran, e inclusoenvidian su tenacidad y dedicacin; mientras,sus palabras estn siempre llenas de humildad,la fuerza y la idea me las dio Dios.Presidentes y expresidentes, embajadores, per-sonajes de la televisin nacional e internacional,deportistas y polticos, adems de incontablesvisitantes en buses de paseo, son las personasgracias a las cuales este jardn contina brin-dando sus servicios como lugar de sano esparci-miento, inspiracin para artistas y refugio,donde los visitantes pueden conocer y disfrutarde las bendiciones que ha derramado Dios y lanaturaleza en estas frtiles tierras.

In December 1967, Miguel Angel Asturias,Guatemalan novelist, translator of the PopolVuh, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Litera-ture. Meanwhile here in Panama, in the town ofGuadalupe, Cerro Punta; a rainy, wet and coldplace, with few inhabitants, was the secludedspot in the mountains that some pioneers weremaking their home. Some of the people living inthe extremely beautiful and fertile valley wereMrs. Rosa Landero, Xenon Santamara, ChichoAtenci and the Caballero Vindas family, compo-sed of Jos Leonidas, Heriberta and their chil-dren.In the developed world, the Beatles and Doorsmusic was heard on the radio, and the psyche-delic movement was booming. At the sametime, working people got up every day to workthis land. The Caballero Vindas family consistedof two boys and five girls, Carmen Cecilia, NubiaMildred, Jos Leonidas (JR), Ruby Etzel, EdithArgelis, Jose Abdiel and Maria Eugenia.After 8 years running a shop (since 1963), theydecided to leave this heavy business. The youn-gest daughter, Maria Eugenia, was 11 months. It

was then that Mrs. Heri-berta Vindas decided tostart a garden. In thosedays, she had mostly Aga-panthus or Flower of Love(Agapanthus africanus),water calla lilies, Alcatraz,arum lily, calla lily (Zante-deschia aethiopica) andcarnations (Dianthus car-yophyllus) growing on theproperty.The road was just a stonepath, which was, for the most part, impassableby cars. In the rainy season, even the horses gotstuck in the mud. It was paved for the first timein 1981. At that time, Mary Gardens customerswere mainly Ms. Goff Silvia and Mr. GustavoRuiz. Word about the beautiful lilies began tospread, and florists started to come. The humidenvironment was conducive to this type ofplant, so florists such as Panaflores, Plantas yFlores, and Cerro Punta S.A. became regulars,just like Ms. Ruiz Elsy and various other floristsfrom Panama City.This humble garden was started to help the do-mestic economy, and supplement income forher childrens education. After the loss of herhusband, Mr. Jos Leonidas, on March 30, 1983,Mrs. Heriberta finished educating her childrenalone. Jos Abdiel was studying Animal Sciencein Recife, Brazil, Maria Eugenia was finishing

high school in the DavidInstitute, Edith Argeliswas also finishing collegeas a building technician atthe U. of Technology, andthe youngest son, "thebaby" Jos Ameth, born in1977, was just enteringfirst grade.Thus, this project, Plan B,a garden to help the fa-mily, became the mainbusiness for the remai-ning Caballero Vindas Family members who, todate, have all become professionals. This isthanks to the effort, dedication and love fromtheir mother; a hardworking, enterprising andtireless woman who sometimes makes us won-der about the root of her strength. Those whoknow her admire, and even envy her tenacityand dedication. Meanwhile, her words are al-ways full of humility, "the strength and the ideacame from God".Presidents and former presidents, ambassadors,national and international television personali-ties, politicians and athletes, and countless tourbus visitors, are those through which this gar-den continues to provide its services as a placeof healthy recreation, inspiration for artists andrefuge. Its a place where visitors can learnabout and enjoy the blessings that God and na-ture has bestowed on these fertile lands.

The encounter works topromote and facilitate contact between allparticipants, so that they can exchange ideas andexperiences, and promote businesses and products.In this ideal setting, friends, colleagues andESCAPES and Air Panama clients exchanged ideason topics presented in different editions of themagazine. They also shared information aboutthe airline such as its daily route to Medellin,Colombia, the new flights to San Jose - Costa Rica,and future plans that Air Panama has for theChiriqui Province.

El pasado marzo se realiz el ZEN SUMMER DAY Yoga y Pilatesde PowerClub, un da de relajacin, meditacin y ejercicio en lasTerrazas de Amador, con la participacin de ms de 150 yoguis-tas y amantes del Pilates. Desde las seis de la maana nuestrosinstructores, Nany Sevilla , Maria Pia y Vander, dieron sus res-pectivas clases las cuales duraron hasta las 8:30 a.m., cerrandocon la presentacin del artista Alejandro La Grotta.

PowerClub Yoga and Pilates celebrated a ZEN SUMMER DAYlast March. It was a day of relaxation, meditation andexercise at Terrazas de Amador. Over 150 yogis and Pilatesenthusiasts participated. From 6-8:30 am, our instructors,Nany Sevilla, Maria Pia and Vander, gave their respectiveclasses. The closing ceremony was a presentation fromartist Alejandro La Grotta.

El 20 de marzo tuvo lugar la primera edicin deMEN PANAM , organizado por el chef Mario Cas-

trelln en conjunto con el Biomuseo. El evento gastronmico tuvo comoobjetivo revalorizar la cocina tradicional panamea teniendo siemprepresente la biodiversidad.Cuatro chefs internacionales dictaron clases maestras gratuitas a es-tudiantes locales; y cinco chefs locales participaron junto a cinco fon-deros en una muestra gastronmica al aire libre.

Chef Mario Castrellon and the Biomuseum organized the first edition ofPANAMA MENU on March 20. The gastronomic event aimed to revalue tra-ditional Panamanian cuisine while considering biodiversity.Four international chefs offered free master classes to local students; andfive local chefs participated in an outdoor culinary show.
