EDREAMS MITJA MARATÓ BCN EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW REGARDING THE EDREAMS MITJA BCN

On 1991 was the 1st edition of the eDreams Mitja BCN. It’s a 21’095km distance race that goes through the Catalan city. During the past years, the race has grown considerably in participation, getting the 17.855 participants in the past edition. So, the eDreams Mitja BCN is, nowadays, one of the most important half marathons in Spain. The eDreams Mitja BCN has, now, passed into history thanks to the female world record of half marathon from Florence Kiplagat. Thanks to the Florence Kiplagat’s achievements, the Barcelona Half Marathon has become in one of the best destinies for runners who are looking to beat their personal best.

BIB NUMBER COLLECTION FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE EDREAMS MITJA BCN

Where is the bib number collection? The place to pick the bib number up is in Cúpula de las Arenas (the mall in Plaza España) on Friday and Saturday, from 10h to 20h. What do I need to collect my bib number? You will need the last mail from the organization where it says your bib number and also your ID card or passport. Without these documents, you won’t get your bib number. Can I get my bib number the same day of the race? No. You can only get you bib number in the Runner’s Fair (Cúpula de las Arenas) on Friday or Saturday, from 10h to 20h. Can someone go to collect my bib number if I can’t go myself? Yes, but the person who collect your bib number must bring the last email where it says the bib number, also must bring the photocopy of the ID card or passport, and the authorization letter. Without all these elements, won’t get the bib number. Can I give or sell my bib number? No, the bib number is personal and no-transferable. I don’t know what bib number I have? If you haven’t received any mail from the organization with your bib number, don’t worry. It will be a place in the runner’s fair where you can find out. How the chip works? All participants must run the entire race with a chip. You can run the eDreams Mitja BCN with the yellow chip but if you haven’t any, we will provide you one which will be placed behind the bib number. I forgot my chip/bib number at home!! What coul I do?? On Sunday, the race day, won’t be any incidence point. So, don’t forget anything because won’t be any solution.

Do I get a t-shirt for my participation in the eDreams Mitja BCN? With the participation in the eDreams Mitja BCN, the organization will give you a commemorative t-shirt of the race. Do I get any finisher t-shirt? No. You will only have the t-shirt that comes with the inscription.

I want to change the start box, what can I do? Along the year, you can always send an email to info@edreamsmitjabarcelona.com in order

they change what you request. In case you couldn’t change anything before the weekend’s

race, you can always go to the “Runners’ fair” located in the Cúpula de les Arenes, on Friday

and Saturday (10h to 20h).

Can I register myself in the runner’s fair? No, it’s only possible to register online through the official website (www.edreamsmitjabarcelona.es)

THE RACE IS ON! EVERYTHING ABOUT THE RACE

After a hard training, finally the day has arrived. In order you can finish your challenge fine, you will find few advices below: Where should I wear my bib number? The bib number (with name and number) must be always on the chest during the entire race. Remember to fill up with your personal data behind the bib number. It’s very important to know the contact of a family member or friend, in case we need to contact them. What should I do if I’ve loosen my bib number? The day of the race, won’t is any area to solve this kind of incidences. So, leave everything set up the night before in order to don’t forget anything. Where could I meet with friends and family? You can go followed by your friends and families until the entrance of the start box. The best meet point after the race is Arc de Triomf. How is going to be the start distribution? It will be 6 start lines in order to make the start comfortable for everyone. The start boxes are:

• 1st start: élite, less than 1h20 • 2nd start: between 1h20 and 1h30 • 3rd start: between 1h30 and 1h40 • 4th start: between 1h40 and 1h50 • 5th start: between 1h50 and 2h • 6th start: more than 2h

At what time the start boxes are open? They open until 8am and they close at 8.25h. The start of the race is at 8.45h I want to do a Personal Best, it will be any pacemaker to help me out? The organization provides to the runners 32 pacemakers that will pace 7 different rhythms along the race. The athletes will be located in their start boxes, depending on the time they will run for. They will be identifying with a beachflag. Can I run with headphones? For security reasons, it’s not allowed running with headphones, it could be dangerous. Will I get any certificate for my participation on the race? Every finisher will get a diploma which will be available on the website from they can

download it.

Will I get any medal after the race? All finishers will get their commemorative medal from the eDreams Mitja BCN.

Is there any service for engrave the medal? Yes, there is - at the end of the last refreshment, once you have finished the race. The service will be available for all of those who have asked previously (through the website or in the runner’s fair). Is the race on TV? It will be a 30 minutes special program in Teledeporte and Esport 3 the week after the race. Is there any tour operator that could help me? Yes. Our official TTOO is Aventurismo (Tel. 0034 902 363 462 info@aventurismo.com). Thanks to this agency you can get interesting travelling packages with the inscription. But, if you need help with just with the hotel or something else, you can also contact them to help you out. Do you have only this Tour operator working with your? No. We work with the best tour operator around the world. You can contact them by visiting our official website. Do I have any insurance while I run? The organization will have liability insurance with the legislation in force. All participants, whether federated or not, will have an accident insurance too. Regarding the laws of personal data protection, who are using them? And why do they need them? All data are protected according to the Personal Data Protection Law. When the participant registers for the marathon, he/she are giving their consent to RPM Racing, S.L., to use their personal data with the sportive, promotional or commercial goal. Is there any security during the race? Yes, there is. It won’t be vehicle pass in some parts of the race. But when the road has to accept the pass of the vehicles, it will be perfectly adapted to the runner’s needs. It will be police officers along the race for a better security to everyone. Is there any shower service after the race? NO. Unfortunately there is no service after the race. Has the marathon any profile in the social networks? Yes. Te marathon has an official profile in facebook, twitter and instagram. They are updating the social networks very often with information about the race, tips and trainings. Is there any promotion or voucher to move around the city with public transport? Barcelona and TMB work together to offer a sustainable mobility around the city during the marathon’s weekend. HOLA BCN is the card which participants (or friends/family) can use to travel around Barcelona with public transport. Just by buying the HOLA BCN card through the eDreams Mitja Marató BCN, you will get a 15% discount. You can buy the card in our website when you are registering for the marathon (also in the Runners’ fair). If you buy the card online, you have to pick up your card at the runner’s fair. The card will be activating when you will use it, and from then you will have 2 days to use it. After this days will stop working.

THE CLOAKROOM

Where could I leave my bag/package/jacket? It will be a cloakroom’s service the same day of the race. It opens at 6h30 and closes at 8h15. Once the race has began, the cloakroom will open again at 9h30 until 13h. Where is the cloakroom located? The cloakroom is located in Centre Municipal Esportiu de la Estació del Nord (c/Nàpols, 42-44) ** The runner must go in ready to run wearing the bib number already on the chest and with the bag ready to be left. Once the participant left the things in, he/she will have to go outside the pavilion and wait for the rest of their friends/family outside.

How long is the distance? 21.095 km How is the track? Which areas are going through? Barcelona has a Mediterranean weather and thanks to the clime, the runners will enjoy even more the city. They will enjoy Barcelona while running. The track is wide and fast, and totally urban: (Starts) Passeig Pujades - Plaça Picasso - Avinguda Marqués Argentera - Plaça Isabel II - Plaça Colon - Josep Carné - Plaça Drassanes - Paral.lel – Entença - Gran Via – Bailén – Ronda Sant Pere – Plaça Sant Joan – Plaça Lluís Companys - B. Muñoz - Pallars - Llacuna - Perú – Josep Pla – Gran Via - Rambla Prim - Diagonal sentit Llobregat – Espronceda - Diagonal sentit Besós - Plaça llevant - P. Taulat – Selva de mar - Plaça Garcia Faria – Plaça Calvell - Avinguda Litoral - Port Olímpic -Arquitecte Sert – Salvador Espriu – Marina – Passeig Pujades (Arrival). How long it takes the race? The runner has 2h45 to complete the full lace. After that time, the participant who hadn’t finished the race must quit. In case they want to keep on running, they can but following the traffic regulations and under their responsibility. What should I do if I want quit the race? Go to the nearest refreshment station and wait for the sweep car to pick you up. It will take you until the finish area.

Advices when you arrive to the finish line: 1. Keep going after cross the arrival arch. Don’t stop to stretch up or wait for a friend/family. 2. Keep walking and follow all the volunteers’ instructions, they will show you where the

powarade and the fruit is. 3. A good meeting point with your family is Arc de Triomf.

Would be any refreshment station along the race? Yes, it will be 3 different refreshement stations (km5, km10, km15) during the race; and also, the last one in the arrival area. What kind of refreshment stations are they? They are liquids refreshment stations. The runner will have water and powerade. What brand is the water? Aquabona, is the oficial brand in the eDreams Mitja BCN. What brand is the energetic beverage? Powerade, is the oficial brand in the eDreams Mitja BCN. Any gels? No for this kind of race Any fruit, dried fruits? You will find banana and mandarins in the last refreshment station, in the finish area. Would it be a recovery service after the race? Yes. It will be a recovery area in the Club Esportiu Municipal Estació del Nord (carrer Nàpols, 42-44). It starts at 9h and finish at 12h30. Will it be a medical service during the race? Yes, it will be medical assistant every 5 km. But it won’t be physiotherapist until the end of the race.

ANIMATIONS & VOLUNTEERS

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE EDREAMS MITJA BCN

On the eDreams Mitja BCN’s day it will be 23 points of animation/music located all along the race. The animations groups will offer different kind of activities (music, food taste…) to the public in order to makes them participate in the athletic day in a different way. Over 600 volunteers offer themselves, every year, to help in the organization of the race. To participate as volunteer, you have to do it through an organization that collaborates with us. If you want to participate, please, send us an email and we will put you through with the association that fits you better.
