Next, “When I was offered the position of youth services librarian in Titusville, Pennsylvania, giving me the chance to work with kids of all ages, I jumped on it!” After learning all she could and building up youth services there, she was ready to move on for an even better opportunity here in Nashua. “I am very excited to be back in New England and working with teens,” says Ashlee. “I can’t wait to get to know Nashua and to come up with fantastic programs and activities teens will enjoy.” Ashlee is well versed in fandoms (being a fangirl herself ), but one thing she thoroughly enjoys is learning what teens are passionate about. Clinton wins (in library poll)This fall you registered your choice for president by dropping money into penny poll jars at the library. The poll closed on October 31, and the results were:Hillary Clinton: $163.13 78.8%Donald Trump: $43.93 21.2%The library poll had proved a reliable predictor in the past two presidential elections: In 2008 and 2012, Barack Obama was victorious in the penny poll and in the general election. This year, Hillary Clinton prevailed in the penny poll, and, while she lost the election, she did carry the state of New Hampshire, and the popular vote nationwide. This year’s total proceeds of $207.06 will be donated to the Friends of the Nashua Public Library.

Chandler Wing construction has begunAt long last, construction has begun to transform the Music/Art/Media Wing into the Chandler Wing of the Nashua Public Library. The renovated space will provide you with several modern meeting rooms, including individual quiet study rooms, without sacrificing the central performance space for concerts and other events. We expect the project to be completed in the spring.Over the next few months you may notice staff walking through the back of the theater during meetings, films, and other events. Unfortunately this is the only way for them to access their offices during the project. We apologize for this inconvenience.
