• L1 tiene una distribución cortical más localizada que la L2

• La variabilidad en la localización de la L1 es menor que la de la L2

• La proficiencia afecta al solapamiento entre lenguas

¿Cómo afecta el bilingüismo a nuestro cerebro?

El aprendizaje y uso de dos lenguas tiene consecuencias cognitivas y cerebrales tanto por lo que respecta a las redes neuronales como a la estructura cerebral.

Aunque el bilingüismo parece incurrir en ciertos costes a la hora de procesar el lenguaje, también parecen existir beneficios en la flexibilidad cognitiva, que podrían actuar como reserva cognitiva retrasando la aparición de los síntomas relacionados con el envejecimiento.

Nunca es tarde ….

Para estimular nuestro cerebro aprendiendo y usando una segunda lengua…
