Colombia, as a privileged country within the global context, it has one of the largestaquifers in the world, with countless animal and plant species, with mineralresources such as coal, oil and emeralds. Colombia is one of the leading coffeeproducers worldwide, the variety of cultures and customs gave rise to richColombian folklore, its exquisite cuisine and its many cultural manifestations. It'samazing culture of Colombia and its people; it is a conservative country sinceColonial times, has a natural beauty and is referred to as a country historian.

Colombians love the good life and in our cities manifests a dynamic culture,according to the international trends. Proofs ofthis are the International festival of Film and the HayFestival of Cartagena, the Manizales Theatre Festival of

Manizales, the International fair of Book andthe Festival de Jazz of Bogot, the International PoetryFestival of Medellin. Our capital cities are on the track ofthe best DJ's in the world. Our museums have significantcollections of world art; fashion events enjoy anexcellent reputation worldwide and proliferate gaynightclubs and fine restaurants. Our handicrafts areappreciated worldwide: the rucksack Arawak of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta,the vueltiao hat of the plains Cordoba, San Jacinto hammock in Bolivar, lacquerobjects of Pasto in Nario, Rquira Ceramic in Boyac.

Bogota has become an attractive tourist destination. It is a modern city that offersan excellent quality of life. Medellin is the epicenter of textile design andproduction, landmark fashion and is known for the friendliness of its people and thebeauty of its women. In the south is Cali, it is cheerful and salsa. Their womencompete in the charm and beauty with the Medellin. Cartagena adds to the charmof its colonial architecture, republican and modern, the attractions of a vibrantnightlife, cultural festivals, lush landscapes, beautiful beaches, good food and animportant tourist infrastructure. It is pleasant to walk the streets and see thecolonial buildings, the Palace of the Inquisition, the Clock Tower, the walls and theCastillo de San Felipe de Barajas, while enjoying the warm breeze and quiet fromits parks and squares.

The academic excellence of our colleges and universities and the presence of

hospitals with high-tech equipment, staffed by international specialists, areincreasingly attracting foreign visitors. The physical infrastructure of large cities hasbeen modernized with efficient mass transport systems, wide boulevards and largeparks are a natural lung for the enjoyment of all people. If you come to Colombia,you should visit the different cities of our country. You may also want to visit someshopping malls, restaurants and beaches.
