STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION

Declaration of final result for Non Interview posts(Option P to W) under Combined Graduate Level

Examination, 2011

Results of Interview posts (Post Options A to O) and Post ofStatistical Investigator consisting of 3296 (List I) and 655 (List-III)candidates had already been placed on the website of theCommission (http://ssc.nic.in)

2. The following procedure has been adopted in allocation ofcandidates for non-interview posts (Post codes P to W):

i) Candidates not allotted to Interview posts including

Statistical Investigator were placed in merit order.(ii) Candidates without any option for posts and/or states

were not considered for allocation, as they had failed toexercise options despite at least two opportunities.

(iii) Candidates in merit order were considered for firstopted post and within the post for opted states.Candidates failing to get allocated so were consideredfor the second opted post and within the post for optedstate and so on.

(iv) Candidates upto 10% mistakes in UR category in DEST

and upto 15% mistakes in case of all reservecategories were considered for post of Tax Assistantsand considered for CBEC/CBDT as per their optionand within the option for states opted by them and soon .

(v) Lower ranking candidates belonging to EXS, OH, HHand VH categories have been considered againstvacancies earmarked for their respective verticalcategories(UR,SC,ST or OBC) in their turn subject totheir are not having availed any concession at anystage of the examination and subject to availability ofvacancies in respective categories.

3. Category-wise break-up of the candidates for different postsselected against the vacancies reported by the User departmentsand highest and lowest marks secured by candidates selectedagainst each post/ state is as below ( For the posts where stateallocations have been made.

Note: While there was exemption from DEST for PH candidates in CBDT nosuch exemption was available in CBEC.

In all the above Tables, candidates selected against Horizontal vacancies havebeen shown in their vertical categories as well. In certain cases all vacanciesshown filled against a vertical category have been filled by horizontal categorycandidates and hence the highest and lowest marks shown against such rows arezero as the same are available against the respective vertical category.

4. Tie cases have been resolved by applying following criteria, one afteranother, as applicable till the Tie is resolved :-

If there are candidates for a particular post/group of posts have the sameaggregate marks in both Tier I and Tier II Examinations, including the marks forInterview wherever applicable, then the tie will be resolved by the Commissionby referring to the total marks of Tier II examination i.e. a candidate having moremarks in Tier-II will be given preference. If the tie still persists then the totalmarks in Tier I examination will be referred to i.e. a candidate having more marksin this Examination will be given preference. This procedure will be followed byDate of Birth, i.e., the candidate older in age will get preference. Lastly, if the tiestill persists, the tie will be finally resolved by referring to the alphabetical orderof names, i.e., a candidate whose name begins with the alphabet which comesfirst in the alphabetical order will get preference.

5. There are 53 candidates in List II whose candidature has been keptprovisional by concerned regional offices but are included in the Select List.Concerned RDs/DDs will check the eligibility of such candidates thoroughly

before their nomination. Result of 75 candidates has been kept withheld by theCommission due to certain discrepancies including suspected malpractice. Theirmarks etc. have also not been placed on the website. Decision will be taken intheir cases in due course.

6. Results for Options P to W are now placed on the website(http://ssc.nic.in) .The list contains the details of 8635 selected candidates,marks and other details of all candidates will also be placed on the websiteshortly.

7. The Commission has endeavored to make post and state allotmentfor the first time. This entailed preparation of a new software and utmost carehas been taken to ensure total accuracy in processing of the result on the basis ofdata received from regional offices. 16. Representations for change in State shall be outright rejected .

Representations not accompanied by relevant document will not be

examined. Representations received after 15.4.2012 will not beexamined. Representations received upto 15.4.2012 will be taken up

for examination in a consolidated manner and a note will be placed on

the website after such examination within a month. No correspondence

will be made with individual candidates making such representations.
