So where are we going?

Many school systems are moving towards the implementation of BYOT. As of September 24th, Harford County Superintendent Barbara Canavan stated that all schools within Harford County would be moving towards implementing BYOD. The system is moving to towards fortifying all schools with Wi-Fi connections and a plan of action. Pilot BYOD schools such as Edgewood High continue to use and find success with the program.

Can we back this up with research?

On the national level, the Center for Digital Education and National School Boards Association found the implementation of BYOD programs in school districts skyrocketing in 2014 from 22 to 56 percent. The Pew Research Center Internet and American Life project found that 95% teens (12-17) use the internet on a regular basis, 80% use social networking and 75% have the use of a cell phone.
