1. INTRODUCTION

The Cultural Association of Archaeology and Sciences of Antiquity (ARCIAN) is

pleased to announce the celebration of its second International Meeting of Young

Researchers in Archaeology and AntiquitySciences (EINIACA), to be held at Geography and

History college of the University of Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, Spain), on 20, 21 and

22ndJuly 2016.

ARCIAN was founded on September 17th, 2014 in order to promote knowledge and

research in the fields of Archaeology and Sciences of Antiquity, organize cultural and

education al activities, and stimulate interaction between specialists and Young

researchers in both fields of study. The convening of this meeting is the continuation event

of EINIACA15, which aims to promote the exchange, knowledge and dialogue between

junior researchers of Archaeology and Sciences of Antiquity. This Association has the

support from several academic institutions in its founding and organizing the conference.

In this activity, we propose a second International Meeting of Young Researchers. It

will be divided into several sessions spanning from Prehistory to Late Antiquity. Each day,

it will proceed to the presentation of thematic tables, communications and posters, in

which can be used audiovisual material, such as PowerPoint, transparencies or slides.

ARCIAN and the Organizing Committee of the II International Meeting of Young

Researchers in Archaeology and Antiquity Sciences (EINIACA) invite to participate in the

conference to all researchers who meet the following requirements:

● Students enrolled into Master studies related to the theme of the congress.

● Predoctoral students stage.

● Doctors who have not read his thesis prior to 2013.

● It also will accommodate the proposals of those researchers who have completed a

Bachelor or Master Degree but are not enrolled in a doctoral program or do not

belong to an academic institution.

Due to the limited available spots, all proposals will be subject to a rigorous

selection process conducted by our Committee, which is composed of experienced and

highly respected researchers into the academic community.

4. PROPOSALS

Proposals can be written in Galician, Spanish or English; they must be original,

unpublished and have not been previously published. Each proposal will be forwarded to

the email EINIACA: [email protected], deadline March 15th, 2016. Admission list will

be published on June 10th 2016, and the final program of the conference on July 1st

2016, both at www.arcian.org.

Those who are accepted must complete and submit the electronic registration form

available here and make the payment, betweenthe10th – 30th June2016.

5. PARTICIPATION

Two modes of attendance to the conference are considered, depending on the type

of enrolment; in both cases, the applicant should fill out the appropriate electronic

registration form, and submit the fees proof of payment.

5. 1. ACTIVE ENROLMENT

People who wish to attend could send their proposal related to accepted topics,

previously explained. Two are the types of active enrolment: oral presentation (15

minutes) or poster presentation (5 minutes). Posters should be submitted in A1 vertical

format (594 x 841 mm) on the relevant day half an hour before the start of the journey.

The organising committee of EINIACA16 also brings the possibility to print in advance the

poster, under prior arrangement.

Each participant may only submit two proposals as first author, being the limit per

person of three proposals, regardless of the sign position.

Supported languages for the presentations are Galician, Spanish, Portuguese,

English, French or Italian. Those who wish may support their presentation with

audiovisual materials. To expedite the development of the congress, we appreciate the

pre-submission of presentations to the following email: [email protected]

Active participants must fill out and submit the electronic form available here and

pay the appropriate tuition fees, between the 10th and the 30th June 2016.

5. 2. PASSIVE ENROLMENT

ARCIAN and the EINIACA16 Organising Committee encourage every body to

participate as a listener (sitting in), regardless of their education background. However, in

order to receive a certificate of attendance, the applicant must attend at least to the 80%

of the activities. In any case it is necessary to formalize the electronic enrolment using the

form available here, with the deadline on 15thJuly, 2016. If the applicant wishes the

certificate, appropriate fees have to be paid before 15thJuly 2016.
