quality conditions at Southeast Asia Region under the global climate andfuture urban-industrial-agricultural water demand and land use scenarios,

PRODUCTS





HUB SERVICES The main priority of the regional water knowledge hub for climate

-agencies around the region to help it brace itself for the impacts ofclimate change. More specifically, the hub will:

Develop and offer courses and training programs in the areas required

and specific to the region, that are relevant and self-sustaining;

Assess the im acts of lobal climate chan e and land use chan e onwater balances and water quality in Southeast Asia through regionalinteractive climate, hydrology, and water quality models, such asNAHRIM’s Regional Environmental Hydroclimate Model (RegEHCM),part of which is already complete;

Train technical personnel from interested agencies around the region inthe use of state-of-the-art data and technology from regionalenvironmental hydroclimate models and water resources systems

Help develop clients’ and partners’ awareness of water-related issues inagricultural, coastal resource, biodiversity, forestry, public health,



energy, an soc o-econom c p ann ng, raw ng on e exper se oregional and international teaching personnel ;

Develop a simulation model for water resources systems at theregional, country, and watershed scales that will include both water

- - agricultural water demands in Southeast Asia in the 21st century at afine space (grid resolution ~3 kilometers) and time (hourly/daily)resolution.

Initial collaboration is with other water knowledge hubs and like minded

Ministry of Public Works (MPW) and Ministry of Environment Indonesia, Public Utilities Board (PUB) Singapore, Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-Water) South Korea, and

Australia

to firm up the Global Climate Model (GCM) simulations to be acquired, river

GIS database.

Consequently, as the study progresses collaboration with hubs such as,

Tsukuba, Japan, International Research Center for Erosion andSedimentation, China and others would be carried out.





Clients Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE), Ministry of

Energy, Water and Communications (MEWC), Ministry of Health (MOH),the implementing agencies such as the Department of Irrigation andDraina e DID Mala sian Meteorolo ical De artment MMD Department of Agriculture (DOA).

The Regional Clients of WKHCCA SEA are national and local agenciesan mun c pa es n var ous na ons n e ou eas s a reg on(Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia,Philippines, Brunei) that are responsible for managing the water resources and water quality conditions in their countries managing land use and land cover in their countries training and research institutions (Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), UN,

universities, etc) other re ional water knowled e hubs





’ The International Clients WKHCCA are international research agencies

,International Financing Agencies dealing with water resourcesdevelopment and environmental issues.

The network for WKHCCA will be developed incrementally andwill be sustained through continued on-going programs.
