Una de mis pasiones es apoyar a las personas en sus procesos de entrevistas y

verlos pasar de ser casi un desastre a ser unos artistas al hablar de s mismos.

Admito abiertamente que es una de las cosas que ms satisfaccin me da. Mi

mtodo de trabajo pone bastante estrs en mis clientes pero como terminan

dicindome, es preferible sufrir conmigo que con el entrevistador real. Algunos

no duermen antes mis prcticas de entrevistas, otros no aguantan los nervios y

cancelan. Lo importante es que son efectivas.

Una de las cosas en las que ms insisto antes de ir a una prctica final es

asegurarme que la persona est preparada para algunas de las preguntas

peligrosas. En realidad son ms de 5, pero he decidido compartir al menos 5 de

las ms importantes en el artculo de hoy. Uno de los trucos durante la entrevista

es entender la intencin detrs de la pregunta.

Hblame de ti. Entiende que el entrevistador NO sabe prcticamente nada de

ti y quiere una sntesis de quien eres profesionalmente. Trata de no hacer una

letana de atributos ya que todo eso es subjetivo y no le dice nada al reclutador.

En su lugar, es preferible que en 60 a 90 segundos, hables de ti, siguiendo un

guion donde expliques brevemente de dnde vienes, qu estudiaste, dnde has

trabajado y tus principales logros enlazados con la posicin para la que te ests

entrevistando. No hay ms nada que decir.

Por qu deseas trabajar para nuestra empresa?Muy importante que

hayas hecho tu tarea y que hayas investigado a la empresa con la cual te ests

entrevistando, a fondo. Luego busca razones reales y autnticas por las cuales

deseas trabajar con la empresa. Ellos quieren saber si sientes pasin por la

empresa o si es simplemente un trabajo que ests tomando por salir del paso.

Ests buscando empleo en otras empresas, ests en otros procesos?

Parece una pregunta inocente pero no lo es. Si dices que no ests buscando en

ningn otro lugar es posible que no te crean. Si dices que ests en muchos

procesos, entonces pueden creer que no ests interesados en ellos. Lo mejor es

decir: Estoy en bsqueda activa (u otro proceso) pero estoy sumamente

interesado en esta empresa o esta posicin.

Hblame de tus fortalezas o debilidades. Un clsico, es decir, preguntas

bastante comunes. Por favor, no vayas a ninguna entrevista sin haberlas

pensado. En el caso de las fortalezas, piensa para qu eres realmente bueno,

busca ejemplo en tu vida laboral que sustente cada fortaleza y haz que esas

fortalezas coincidan con la posicin o algo que la organizacin valore. En el casode las debilidades, lo importante es que demuestres te conoces a ti mismo. Pero

cuidado, que la debilidad no sea medular en el desempeo del trabajo.

Qu dira tu jefe anterior de ti?

Bajo ningn concepto se puede

hablar mal de la empresa o el jefe

anterior. As que mucho cuidado. Por

ms difcil que haya sido la relacin

anterior, busca una manera de

contestar esta pregunta donde no se

muestre problemas o conflicto. La

manera de pensar de las empresas es

que si el entrevistado habla as de su jefe anterior, seguro debe ser una persona

difcil y va a hacer lo mismo con nosotros cuando deje de trabajar para nuestraempresa.

Practica las respuestas en voz alta! En estos das me enter que descartaron a

una persona porque su tono de voz era muy alto... qu triste! pero ese es el

mundo que estamos viviendo...

For advertisers, the push for integrated marketing draws brands to athletes like a

moth to a flame. Borrowing the spotlight from athletes is a quick path to brand

relevance. Setting aside boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, the

worlds 20 highest-paid athletes collected almost $1 billion in 2015, according to

Forbes. Almost half a staggering $470 million - is from endorsements. The

ratio would have been higher if not for a few athletes who are unmarketable

(Ndamukong Suh, for example). The market for athlete endorsers is open for

business and brands are shopping with zeal.

Chief Financial Officers at brand companies are left wondering how best to

manage those quickly growing budgets. Is it more advantageous to buy

established personalities who come with their own mythology? Or, are brands

better off identifying emerging athletes with the right appeal and building a

shared story where both win?

There are only a few truly iconic sports stars that transcend sports making the

decision to build or buy an easy one. As the cost of acquiring lesser known talent

rises and the associated risks grow, marketers should opt to build. Under

Armour (Jordan Spieth), Red Bull (Lindsey Vonn) and Uniqlo (Novak Djokovic)

provide roadmaps for how to build brands together. Beyond a high-performing

athlete, success requires engaging personality, a willingness to step outside thecomfort zone, social media savvy and the ability to generate content. All of which

needs to stay on message for both the brand and the athlete.

With those criteria in mind, here are some intriguing athletes who fit the profile

Mikaela Shiffrin: With an Olympic gold and 30+ podiums in five years on the

World Cup circuit, the 21-year old skier is a proven talent. During interviews and

on social media, she displays an easy-going, witty personality which should

appeal to a broad range of brands. As a plus, her Twitter feedconfirms she is

comfortable in a world of #hashtags. Even after being recognized as winter

sports most marketable athleteand deals with Longines and Wheaties, she

remains underdeveloped as a spokesperson. While the objective is to build a

brand beyond the sport, Shiffrins future partners will be aided by at least two

Olympic cycles where she will likely be the face of the US Olympic team.

Crystal Dunn: A relative newcomer to the high-profile US Womens NationalTeam, Dunn has appeared in only 28 caps but has a history of soccer success.

Isolating individual players in team sports is notoriously difficult. However, goals

scorers tend to stand out Dunn has eleven in her short international career.

Perhaps Dunns outburst is isolated success, but the USWNT has a history of

prolific scorers who have become household names: Mia Hamm, Abby Wambach

and current star Alex Morgan. To a marketer, Dunn is a relative blank slate witha narrow digital footprint, only 30,000Twitter followers compared to Alex

Morgans 2.2 million. With the right brand support, there is a lot of upside.

Nick Kyrgios: An athlete from a sport known for high-profile implosions, Kyrgios

fits the bill as a potential star. The 20-year old might just as easily self-combust

in a series of adolescent temper tantrums. The result is a high-risk, high-rewardasset could follow in the footsteps of tennis bad boys Connors, McEnroe, Becker

and Agassi. Boom-Boom himself recognized the Aussie as a future champion

who will win a Grand Slam. With his aggressive style and brash voice it is no

Professional sports teams have recognized the cost of acquiring high-profile free

agent talent is becoming prohibitively high. In response, teams are improving

their talent management programs to build sustainable feeder programs.

Marketers face similar challenges. Borrowing the brand halo from established

stars puts too much risk in one spot. In an era of paid, owned, shared and earned

media (POSE), marketers need every tool to amplify their brand voice. Whether
