Antecedentes (1)La Seguridad Alimentaria: El EnfoqueExiste inseguridad alimentaria cuando las personas carecen de acceso seguro a cantidades suficientes de alimentos sanos y nutritivos para el normal crecimiento y desarrollo y una vida sana y activa (SOFA 2008).El anlisis se centrar en los cambios en la dimensin del acceso de la seguridad alimentaria por cambios en los ingresos derivados del incremento de precios de los alimentos.Los cambios en los precios de alimentos pueden derivar del impactos de la oferta domestica e internacional y del shocks de la demanda incluyendo la demanda de biocombustibles.Lo que importa para los hogares son los incrementos de precios internos.

Antecedentes (2)Variaciones del precio domesticoLos incrementos del precio domestico pueden ocurrir debido a: (1) Impactos internacionalesLos cambios en la oferta y demanda en los mercados internacionales pueden traer incremento de precio. Estos cambios se deben a impactos en la oferta y demanda, por ejemplo incremento de la demanda para productos de ganado (alimento), escasez de produccin vinculados a impactos climticos, biocombustibles.Estos cambios en los precios pueden o no ser transmitidos a los mercados nacionales, dependiendo de los mecanismos de transmisin de precios y productos bsicos (polticas internas y la depreciacin del dlar). Esto es especfico para cada pas (el grado de transmisin es siempre ms fuerte a largo plazo).
(2) Impactos nacionalesLos precios nacionales cambiarn debido a impactos en la oferta y demanda nacional que pueden incluir produccin interna de bioenerga.
