Fra il X e il XVI secolo, lungo le coste italiane, furono costruite innumerevoli torri di avvistamento a difesa delle popolazioni

dalle incursioni dei saraceni. In una di queste torri, a Forio d’Ischia, immerso in un bosco di macchia mediterranea e a poca distanza

dalla villa “La Colombaia”, appartenuta al regista Luchino Visconti, sorge il Mezzatorre Resort & Spa, un albergo esclusivo a picco sul mare.
